If you are talking about his I sold my used digital camera thread, I would like to know why too.

I know he was hassling mods to move (which I moved back) and lock the thread.

I thought it was a given that if a mod is involved in a thread, that it is up to them to lock, move, and or delete.

Are we just gonna let these fuckers whine till we do what they want?

Listen, if you people have shit going on with other members, I do not step on your toes and do with threads as I please, and I don't appreciate it the other way around.

I think it all started with the Declaration of Independence -- the idea that we had the inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That pursuit is what took America from the revolution to the computer age in 200 years. But the progress has come at a price. The obvious being the people that were exploited to make it possible; the not so obvious being us, the first group of people that were given no obvious frontiers to conquer. We hear stories about the good old days that don't seem to apply anymore. It's a generation gap that leaves us without role models. But the bright side is that without role models, there are no roles. Maybe that's what the 60s were all about -- getting rid of the roles. But what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, what do we replace them with? Without any guidance, the choices become overwhelming. Sometimes it just makes everything feel hopeless. So we destroy our bodies in the search of an ideal. Try to salvage relationships that don't work. We feel we must do something, instead of doing something that we feel. It is the prison of self-imposed momentum, and the sad part is that we get used to it. It reminds me of a song I heard the other day. It's called "The Going Nowhere Fast." But the people I have met here have shown me another side of Nowhere. They've pointed out the beautiful irony that stagnation makes it easy to stop and smell the roses, if we just let it. What would we be if we had nothing to rebel against? Well we could finally be ourselves, the first group of people who stopped looking for the answers long enough to appreciate the questions. And all we have to do is to make our own Declaration of Independence. We can embrace the right to life and liberty by simply realizing that happiness exists -- not to pursue, but to accept. After that the only challenge would be to make sure with the rest of our lives that we weren't just another fad. I don't know, it's an idea. What do you think?

I moved it to Junkyard - I hadn't really read it or even wondered why it should be moved.

Lent did ask me to lock it, then I had to shut down my computer for a bit, so that's why I was gone, but I didn't touch the thread after moving it.

OK, I just wanted to let you know why I never was unable to reply to you about your IM saying he asked for it to be locked.

I could give 2 shits about Lent or the thread, it is more of a principle issue that we, as mods, will step on each other's toes just to shut up the whiney members.

Sorry Slash. This was in no way meant to step on your toes. If I did, then I am truly sorry man.

As you said, I did IM you about it, but your were away from the computer. I also noticed that you weren't even signed on to the board either so I just went ahead and got rid of it.

This is in no way meant as an excuse, but the reason I did it was because the bitch kept bothering me over and over again. "Flock, can you lock my thread?", "Flock, do you think Slash will open it again and add to it?", "Flock, can you please delete it?" Like I said, I'm not using this as an excuse, but it got fucking annoying and when you didn't respond, I just went ahead and ended it.

Once again Slash, this was never meant to go against you and I truly apologize. I promise this will never happen again.

I fucked up, plain and simple. Looks like the newbie mod still has a lot to learn around here. :(

Flock, thanks for coming foward and taking resposibility for it. That is a rare thing around here at times.

With that said, it's past history and I will hold no grudge or whatever.

I just think that the last thing we should be doing is letting the member's bitching and complaining influence what we do as mods.

It's ok, I will teach Lent a lesson about what happens when you go behind one mods back and bitch to get another mod to do something against the original mod.

Again, no hard feelings - the reason I posted what I posted is so we know not to do it again no matter how much the members bitch.

I just want to go on record and say I respect Slash more and more each day. He could have ripped me a new asshole for what I did, and rightfully I would have deserved it. I fucked up and broke a trust, a mod bond if you will. You are a stand up guy in my opinion Slash.

I was hoping to see you on AIM so I could IM ya to apologize again, but you weren't there. Hopefully I'll catch you soon. Thanks again Slash.
