| Psychopath Registered: Dec. 00  | My girlfriend's ex is constantly harrassing her. Calling her on the phone, driving by her house etc. Now the straw that broke the camel's back was last night. She was with friends and this asshole starts yelling at her, then proceeded to punch her in the face. And I had to hear about it at 5am before work. I am sick and fucking tired of dealing with this douchebags shit. Plus, I'm all ready to go out to his house and stomp the life out of him, but before I do that I wanted to get your opinions on what I should do. Most of you I consider friends and value your opinions, so whatever info you can give me would be most appreciated. SHould I go the legal route or stomp his guts into a little puddle of goo on the pavement? While the stomping the shit out of him route will undoubtedly make you feel better, it may also cause you more trouble in the end if you hurt him too much and you end up getting in trouble. I recommend that you go the legal route and really get this guy. Make sure there is a restraining order, and charges are filed for the assault on your g/f. He should have to pay, and if you can get him in legal trouble, that may hit him in the pocket book as well as in the ass... either way, good luck! I wouldn't recommend fighting unless you are totally assured a victory. But since he is a pussy........ If it gets violent make sure the beating is one he would not want to take again. If your girl is bruised up, I would do what Woddy should have done and go straight to the police. That way if anything happens in the future you have evidence for your side. But a beating is in order. Find out where he hangs out. Confront him in front of people he knows. Let everyone know what he did, then he might wanna swing at yah. Good luck. Even if he hits you first, you can be charged with assault. You would be suprised how much you can do to him by taking the legal route. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | As much as you want to beat this man down, you can't. It is now too long after the fact to garner any sympathy from a cop, judge, or jury. Had to taken physical action immediately upon hearing the news, you may have been able to get a bit of special dispensation. You really need to have charges brought forth. More than likely, there will be little recourse, except maybe for a restraining order, however you need to establish a history. A public record of the "altercation" will lend credence to any potentially violent responses to future discrepencies. If nothing else, it will give you validity in court should this happen again.
