Have you ever been driving in traffic, and get stuck behind a slow motherfucker? I mean the type of person that takes about 3 minutes to get their car going 45mph. I propose a law that would make it legal to run them off of the road. Or maybe just bump them to scare the shit out of them.

Ya know, now that I think about it. Nothing pisses me off more than stupidity. Like people who think they understand, but they don't. What makes you think you know? Why do you bother trying to figure things out? Maybe some people are just very honest with what they say, and people reading shit into it only makes them misunderstood. If you don't know, maybe you're not supposed to know. If you do know, maybe you should keep it to yourself. Shit that is not blatantly stated, is often not blatantly stated for a reason. Don't share what's not yours to share.

Why do people always make assumptions? I'm so tired of people expecting that they know what I'll do or say next. Or expecting that I play basketball or football. No, I'm not a football player, I'm just a big black guy. No, I'm not a basketball player either, I'm nowhere near tall enough. No, I'm not gonna steal your pocket book, especially when I have more money than you. No, I don't want your car, I have my own, thanks. No, I'm not some mean ass criminal just because I'm big and black, I'm actually probably one of the nicer people you'll ever meet. Yes, I'm going to pay for this soda, stop following me around your store. UGH!!! People suck!!! Oh, and every comment I make is not a criticism, or a smack in the face. Assumption is a function of intelligence. The less-intelligent the individual, the more likely it is that they will make an assumption based on nothing. There is nothing that pisses me off more than people who generalize. Just because I'm a white boy from the burbs, does that make me a good kid? No. If I had tattoos all over my body and 12 piercings in my ear, would that make me a bad kid? NO. Unfortunately, people concentrate on being tolerant only; they fail to learn about people as individuals. All they care about is not being labeled a racist or a bigot.

Finally, someone that gets it. LD, unfortunately it's a fact of life that most people are shallow and fucking dumb. People just don't take the time to see what's beneath the surface. I've met skinheads that were cool as hell, and I've met "bruthas" that were total assholes. It's not the container, it's the content.

I'm assuming this isn't original, but it does describe it very well. One thing I've learned having to start over in a new place every 3 years or so, is that stupid people will remain stupid. The sad part is that they are only depriving themselves. I shudder to think what I would be like today if I had only associated with "my kind" when I was younger. Would I be as eager to learn? I doubt it. Would I be as open-minded to new ideas and situations? Probably not. While I remain ever-learning, ever-absorbing, ingnorant individuals remain static or regress. God, Allah, Buddha, chance, or whichever idea you happen to ascribe to gave us the minds we have; it's a shame that some choose to ignore it's potential.

I'm going to cut myself off now, but I'll get into my diatribe about free will and the inconceivable "It's not my fault" attitude that pervades American contemporary culture.

We moved around a lot too when I was growing up. I have to say that there are two sides to it though. On the one hand you are exposed to so much diversity, you can't help but be open-minded. However, moving around so much, it's hard to feel like any one place is truly "home". I wouldn't change it for the world though. In my short life, I've been able to hang with a very diverse array of friends. I've been able to experience many different parts of this country and there is little that surprises me in people.

Few things piss me off more than the old "Do Not Defile This Thread" statement. Firstly, if you don't want it defiled, why are you posting it on a message board which is centered around a show that regularly "defiles" any and everything it can? Furthermore, unless it's board policy, regulation or otherwise important information concerning the board, why is it sacred? There is hardly anything in this world that is beyond reproach, shit posted on a message board generally does not fall within this category. I admit that I have flown off the handle when some racist comments are made, but I've also admitted that I took them too seriously when I have over-reacted. So, in conclusion, I ask of you what topics, threads, posts, pictures, et. al. are so sacred that they can not be made fun of? I'm beginning to believe that there are none. Especially when they are being posted in a public forum, for all to see. And moreso when posted on a message board loosely based on a radio show that is by and large without scruples.

Can declaring "Do Not Defile This Thread" be more pompous and self-serving? I submit that it cannot.
