Mayor of NY has announced anyone that can should give blood at the following manhattan locations:
153 E. 53rd St
310 E. 67th St
150 Amsterdam Ave (& 66th ST)

All NY State Red Cross Centers will stay open late today and tomorrow for people to give blood

I heard form someone at work that ALL military personel are on alert and have been recalled to base.

11:26 a.m.: United Airlines reports that United Flight 93, en route from Newark, New Jersey, to San Francisco, has crashed in Pennsylvania. The airline also says that it is "deeply concerned" about United Flight 175 that departed from Washington's Dulles International Airport.
11:18 a.m.: American Airlines reports it has lost two aircraft. American Flight 11, a Boeing 767 flying from Boston to Los Angeles, had 81 passengers and 11 crew aboard. Flight 77, a Boeing 757 en route from Washington's Dulles Airport to Los Angeles, had 58 passengers and six crew members aboard.
11:16 a.m.: CNN reports that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is preparing bioterrorism teams to respond to the incidents in a precautionary move. The preparation is not based on any known bioterrorism threat.

9:35 a.m.: New York City Port Authority orders all bridges and tunnels in the New York City area closed.
9:06 a.m.: A second plane, apparently a passenger jet, crashes into the second World Trade Center tower and explodes. Both buildings are burning.
8:48 a.m: A large plane, possibly a hijacked airliner, crashes into one of the World Trade Center towers, tearing a gaping hole in the building and setting it afire.

This seems almost unreal.

The great city of NY and the United States Of America in general as we know it is over. The world in a whole took on a brand new face this morning.

How can this happen? I know that is a question that all of us are asking. That we will get answers to. What scares me, will we ever know 100% who it was? What countries will go against The USA if we retaliate quickly.

At the same time I dont care, I say lets do what it takes to bve sure it never happens again. We are the force of the world and its time time show it. If we couyld go and defend a terrorist country against anthoner terrorist country (refering to Iraq-Kuwait) then we better have the balls to do this.

I wont even get into what this is going to do to our stock market and all international trading on a very long term scale.

If this ends in a trial and sentencing, I will be very affraid to be an American.
It is a scary day. Also easy to see it is just the begining. I fear for the world my Children are being dealt.

Anyone know anything about NJ Transit out of Penn Station? Their advisory site says they're out until further notice, but I'm hoping someone's up-to-the-minute.

Hudson River Crossings are all CLOSED except for GWB outbound. Queensboro Bridge is open outbound to vehicles and pedestrians.

In general, it is very difficult to get into or out of Manhattan. All Airports are closed. NYC is on full Terrorist Alert, please if you dont have to go into the City do not attempt to do so, please stay in your homes. NYC is closed. All other remaining Bridges and Tunnels are closed. All major Airports are closed, there are no airplanes being allowed to Depart or Arrive. Security has been tighten around NYC and in all the Airports.(MetroCommute Staff)

Due to NYC being closed, there all heavy Delays on all Major roadways and highways. There are reported heavy delays in Jersey as well as in Westchester, and Rockland. All trains and buses running into NYC are shut down, there is no traffic being let into or out of NYC. All Ferry service has been suspended. Also all Major sporting events and concerts have been cancelled.
