World Trade Center : Princess Diana ::
The Pentagon : Mother Teresa

Can you figure out why?

Close.

Here's what the source of this analogy tells me. It makes sense if you think about it:

When Princess Diana died, she had wall-to-wall coverage. A few days later, Mother Teresa passed away, and it seemed as if nobody had noticed, as the media continued to focus on Di.

With that said, did you notice how the news is concentrating mostly on the World Trade Center attack than the Pentagon attack?

Again, these are not my words, but I thought it might be semi-interesting to share...

Its because the death toll and destruction is on a much smaller level in comparison. People who work in the Pentagon can go to work today, but a good portion of New York City remains closed. There was more devestation in New York City.

you know Austin some people deal with things like this differently and if your reaction is to make a joke to ease the pain-more power to you.

He's a mindblower. Death toll in NY...huge...buildings collaped. Pentagon, although tragic, a relative non-issue in comparison. At least it's still standing...

You cannot even compare these tragedies. First of all Princess Diana died tragically in a horrible car accident. Mother Teresa died of old age. While the loss of both of them were terrible the reason Diana got more attention is because she was only 36 and there was a lot of suspicion surrounding her accident.
As for the WTC/Pentagon tragedies 1. There still IS a Pentagon. People, there no longer IS a World Trade Center, there WAS one. The death toll is estimated to possibly reach 20,000 innocent people, at the Pentagon there will possibly be (worst scenario) 800.
Besides, most of us are here in the Tri-State area and we get more local coverage as well as national.

And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

This board is in chaos with too many threads that could be condensed to one thread, instead of 20 on the same subject. I have seen dozens of speculation threads and these friggin diani, nostradamous, zodiac and number threads.

Enough already try to fuckin control yourselves and not post every brain fart. Tragedy happens and diana was horrible but does not compare to this. In the end diana was a human being a single person. With 6,000 body bags coming into New York i don't see a comparison to anything else.
