Yes I should be beaten for such a stupid topic title. Anyway I posted this awhile ago but couldn't find the thread through either search or looking through all 15 pages in off topic.

On September 22nd and 23rd the BAM Rose Cinema on 30 Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn will be playing The Godfather at 2, 5:20 and 8:50. The 29th they'll be airing The Godfather 2 at 4 and 8 and on the 30th The Godfather 3 at 2, 5:10 and 8:20.

Well, when most of everyone already has it/them on video already, why pay $10 to see it once again?

i live by the philosophy that seeing a movie on a big screen improves the movie like ten fold.

Because it's a different experience seeing it in the theatre?

definitely a different experience. you get more of the movie, you aren't distracted, and sometimes the audience feeling helps.

OK, I agree that it would be a different experience, wider screen, but... not being distracted in a movie theater? Hello? Imagine having the likes of what Anthony encountered in the showing of MI2. If the audience is not the loud and rowdy type, then there'd be no distractions.

Actually when I went to see Glitter there was a girl in tattered clothes there speaking the lines along with the movie screaming at it occasionally, screaming at the audience (or lack thereof) and crying uncontrollably.

Dude, that's like wondering why go out to get laid when you can stay home and jerk off. Not quite the same thing!

It's definitely a neighborhood thing.
In college, I saw "White Men Can't Jump" in West Philly.
This summer, I saw "AI" and "The Score" in North Jersey with Psycho Bitch.
Very different experiences, to say the least.

Which brings me to again recommend an OA-board trip to Rocky Horror at some point..
