When's the online OA.com Magic the Gathering game starting?

I might record Enterprise though the more I think about it.

Ok. First Episode Responses:

1) Intro music has to go. I realize you're trying to make the show more accessible to the general public, but let's not stray too far from the adition. The intro song is ALWAYS an orchestral score...it has been that way for more than 30 years.

2) I am mixed opinions about the blatant sexuality...the rubbing lotion on the hot Vulcan's tight stomach (in her tight little shirt and panties) and likewise on the musclebound snot posed pilot. Can we be any more obvious?

3) I love the crew. Everyone seems VERY down to earth, very much like how people would react under similiar situations.

4) Love the new ship. Very well done, although far superior in design from the Enterprise of the 60's. It's the classic "Phantom Menace Syndrome"...new computer graphics make everything look cooler than the models of old.

All in all...I'll be tuning in next week, that's for sure.

I thought it was great! It takes some getting used to, since it takes place before the shows I'm used to watching, The Next Generation and DS9.

The Vulcan Chick looks better without the Wig (in Maxim.) But the lotion scene made up for that.

One Question though, Where are these Shape shifting/Camilian aliens in the future?

I'll be watching next week.

Jeff, I couldn't agree more. The intro music has to go - although I doubt its going to change. I guess we'll just have to settle for the orchestral clips during the show. And yes, I'm not too thrilled about the sexual tension either. I know the original series wanted to be somewhat sexy (short skirts, etc.) but the television censors of the 60's wouldn't let very much slide. I did feel that whole rubbing of the decon gel scene was not needed (but damn, it must've been cold on the set that day).

Aside from those two complaints, I thought it was a solid opener. I knew it would be a little different than what I was "used" to, and that some things would look better than the original series no matter how much they tried to simplify it. It's gonna take a few episodes for me to really make a solid judgement, but I like it so far.

Where is Jerry Goldsmith when you need him?

Is it just me or are the woman in ST getting bigger breasts? Is it the space travel?

Also, I would be willing to give an arm to see that Vulcan WOW.

Well, I liked it. From a Trek fan's perspective, it's really interesting..... I find the most interesting parts to be the history lesson-type aspects of it. The beginnings of the Federation... the animosity toward the Vulcans.... distrust betweeen both races...

This could really rank among the best Trek series if they do it right....

good show. i'll be watching it. Ship looks cool, casting of the crew was well done. writers did a fantastic job. everything had a nice touch (i even liked the grappling hook they had instead of the tractor beam)

Opening wasn't too bad. This a completely diffrent show than all the others, i think they wanted to reflect that in everything, even the opening.

Maybe they build a secret base in future Afghanistan and Archer bombs the shit out of them, taking the cue from history's legendary President of Earth, George W. Bush?

I liked it, I think.
It's gonna be interesting to see all the first contacts with the species we're all used to. It would have been neat to see a couple of screwed up transporter accidents, though. A half monkey/half dog or somethin... And I like how the ship and quaters are all cramped up, more like a real military ship.
One thing to worry about- isn't a guest appearance by Tiny Lister one of those JumpTheShark kind of omens...? :-)

Great show, I loved the whole idea of it, and pretty everything else that has been said here. I like the fact that they got "Phaser Pistols" and they have the "Transporting device" cool to see the things taken for granted in the old shows be new for them. Also I really loved the nips on the Vulcan.

GREAT SHOW! I have mixed feelings on the opening music. I did like the pictorial showing man developing through the years from navigating the oceans to space and beyond. I think the show will do very well.

The show definitely has potential. I agree that the opening really has to go. I loved the fact that the origin of alot of things came out last night. "To go where no man has gone before...." and the klingons.

That lotion scene RULED! It must have been cold in that roon. Did anyone else notice the nipple alert? or when she went UNDER her tee to rub lotion on?

What? Yes, I was paying close attention. I'll have to watch the tape to confirm I saw it. LOL

I knew I wasn't the only one who noticed. NICE!

And I'm with Jeff... their data pads are 1/5 the thickness that Kirk's crew used. and their sick bay doesn't have knobs and sliding triangles above the beds.

But more importantly, did none of you FAGS notice they decided to go with the First Contact version of the Zephram Cochran story, as opposed to the original series version where he was from Alpha Centauri and he flew over in his warp engine and shared the technology with us?

Anyone remember the episode where he's stuck on a planet with a female alien ball of energy that has sex with him and keeps him alive for a few hundred years?

No? Oh well... I guess I have a convention to get to. (jk!!!) Live long and prosper.

Jeff,
There was a lot of Klingon spoken with no subtext. Were you able to translate it with the help of your Klingon\English Dictionary? Could you provide us with a transcript? Or is the link on Foundry?

I liked the show a lot.
The lotion scene was hot....but totally gratuitous.

Hmm, I was gonna post something about the show, but you guys are way out of my league lol (I can honestly say I've never seen an entire Star Trek movie or tv show EVER) but I did find the premiere enjoyable (I love Bakula and he makes such a great captain), cool effects, good story

Where my eyes playing tricks on me, or did I see a New York skyline with the Twin Towers (mostly cropped off) in a long shot?

I knew going into the show that Berman & Co. had decided to go with the First Contact storyline in regards to Cochrane. They have said that they would be somewhat "liberal" in regards to what is considered the established Trek timeline, and if some things deviated from what is held as "doctrine", the fans would basically have to deal with it. I like this version better, since WE came up with the technology, as opposed to someone giving us the knowledge.

If I am not mistaken, that was a shot of the future San Fran bay area, since that is where Starfleet HQ is "located".

**NERD ALERT**

Starfleet HQ is in San Fran. As far as the timeline, I hate to nitpick with it and shit, but why change it? Leave it as it was written.

I really liked the fact that most of the technology doesn't exist yet. I got really tired of seeing a crew solve EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM by inventing some new technology on the spot.
Hell, they don't even use the transporters to move people because they don't TRUST them! And the universal translators barely work.

Notice the continuity to the original series? How T'Pal was using that "look in the box" type display Spack always used and that they have a "Commmunications Officer" who is a linguist?
I like the fact that the phasers are brand new and only have two settings, kill and stun. Wait till they run into species that stun doesn't work on or the stun setting still kills.

I have no problem with the gratuitous body shots in a Star Trek universe. Anybody remember the pleasure planet where Wesley was almost executed for wrecking a flower bed? Or Rygell 7?

And why hasn't anybody mentioned the red and blue stripper aliens wearing nothing but liquid latex and glitter?

The series has a lot of potential. More than any other series since the original. Every planet, every species, every piece of technology is a new discovery. We get to see the origin of everything!

And the acting is good. Scott Backula is a very middle of the road actor. He isn't bad, but he won't win any Oscars either.

I'll be tuning in every week.

That was Risa - I hated Wesley, waste of a character, and way to much of a fagit :)

What they're trying to do is save the franchise by going back and yet keeping it as modern as they can without it being a show you'd expect to see on Fox (Who Wants to Marry a Vulcan? Temptation Starship?). After Voyager, I think they felt like they were done. Now by going behind the timeline, it opens up many more opportunities for them to go, without having to use the Borg as a crutch every other show to make it halfway worth watching. I really don't care for the into music, too "Party of Five"-ish for me. Get Jerry Goldsmith in there and lets get a real theme.
