This movie looked really good in the trailers. Anyone going to see it this weekend? I can't wait to see it.

quote:

This police drama follows the events of the first day on the job of a rookie cop (Ethan Hawke) working in the Los Angeles Police Department's undercover narcotics unit. His partner is Alonzo (Denzel Washington), a corrupt veteran officer. Hip-hop artist Dr. Dre, in an ironic turn, also plays an LAPD cop.

I'm not sure yet. I'm not a big Ethan Hawke fan, although Denzel as a dirty cop is a cool idea. Just from the trailers, I think I'm going to buy the soundtrack.

I think it looks good, the music from the trailer indeed kicks ass. and Denzel is always good. i forgot what I was reading or hearing but a funny comment was made regarding who would ever believe Ethan Hawke was a DEA agent.

It's the type of movie I'll wait to see cheap, I still haven't seen Don't Say a Word or Zoolander yet.

EDIT: As for the other movies opening this week, I've seen Joyride and it's definitely recommended as a damned good suspense horror thriller. and Steve Zahn rocks.

I saw this movie tonight and loved it. Am not going to spoil anything. Denzel is great as a bad guy. Macy Gray is in it as some f'd up drugged up reject of a mother and Snoop Dogg is in it as a wheelchair bound drug dealer.

Ethan Hawke actually was pretty good. I really liked this movie and recommend seeing it.

That's fine and dandy, but answer me just one question: Since Dr. Dre is in the film, is Suge Knight involved in the ending?

For some reason I don't think this role will be a stretch for her.
