| Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01  | Does anybody here know if it is possible for a man to get Breast Cancer? I'm not kidding. Night before last my girlfriend came over, well, the next morning, I felt some light pain in my chest. I rubbed where it was, and felt a lump about the size of a pea there. Didn't think much of it, felt again today, and it is still there. Once again guys, I AM NOT FUCKING AROUND, please let me know, I am scared shitless. Almost all of the males in my family have died from one form of cancer or another. Do you think this is something I should be scared of, or not. I don't want to make an ass out myself and go to my doctor if it isn't possible. Thanks. .jpg) | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | ok, i know it's basically been covered, but yes it is possible for men to get breast cancer. however, i don't think it occurs overnight. if there was nothing there a couple of days ago, then it's probably nothing. a mosquito bite or something, but if you have the luxury of insurance, might as well get it checked out anyway, and try not to worry too much. I went to the doctor and he said that it was natural for young males to get some swelling when everthing else was growing... that was like 25 years ago...The only problem I have now is mental. Squid:: 1)Yes, men can get breast cancer, BUT, it is extremely RARE!!! Even with a family history of CA(cancer)-unless, it would be male breast cancer (never heard of such an event). 2)Lumps & Bumps occur in people all the time. Most (including breast) ARE NOT cancer. Just like Most headaches are not brain tumors or aneurysms (like Sharon Stone). 3)Cancer is VERY low as a diagnosis in young people (under age 30). I'll bet you are even younger. 4)Pain would be extremely unlikely as the presenting sign of breast cancer. 5)Cancer doesn't grow overnight. It takes MONTHS TO YEARS!!! Most likely this is a cyst or bite of some kind (especially if you can see it). Don't Panic!!! You should watch it for about 2 or 3 weeks. If it doesn't go away or it gets bigger or hurts more, see your Doc (not because it is cancer-it just may be infected). That said, boys & girls, us Docs depend on YOU to do frequent self exams (Breasts & Testes), as you know your bodies best (at least this crowd does). OK, as far as the charge, is your GF hot??? Is she a gymnast??? (only kidding) BTW, Soberman, since when does being a "buyer" make you qualified to give Medical advice (even on the net)??? DR.
