Kid and I are sooo there. Actually I haven't seen brazil in years, i would love to see it again. You know one movie i always wished to see on the big screen was Touch Of Evil and The Maltese Falcon.

Ocean's 11 (Saw last week)- fun movie, not much to think about but definitely enjoyable, ending a bit anti-climatic, Julia Roberts not overly important. I give it a B.

Royal Tenenbaums (saw tonight)- great fucking movie. Also very funny and gets slightly serious for a few minutes but uses most serious parts for a laugh. Entire cast is excellent, Bill Murray is a bit underused but used well and there's a nice homage to Pete Venkman. Also see it if you like Gene Hackman, totally see it. A. One of the year's best films? Yes.

Oh and Mullholland Drive won the NY Film Critic award for best picture.

I saw Oceans 11 last night and I enjoyed this movie. If you're a fan of the "big heist" type of movie, you will like this one. I never saw the original but all these types of movie are pretty much the same, find a place to rob, get the old gang back together, rob place and fool audience with trick getaway. This is the first movie I have seen in a theater in quite some time and I was not disappointed with spending my 7.50, I don't think you will either. I give this movie 3 stars.

Vanilla Sky- Good movie, well acted (especially by supporters), well directed, some very cool scenes. A little overlong, unfortunately marred by simple ending. 2.5/4 stars (still a positive review).

EDIT: Movies still planning to see this year: Majestic (might wait for video), Not Another Teen Movie (might wait for video, definitely not paying full price), Gosford Park (Altman murder mystery not out yet but supposed to be GREAT), How High (might wait for video), Shallow Hal (don't really care for it but you know).

::::wipes away dust from keyboard::::
damn its been a while since i posted on here.

anyways, I saw oceans 11 a week ago, and like someone else says, the ending was pretty anti-climactic.. but overall it was a very very good movie.

Oh, also, Maynard, .. Orange county opens on January 11
I also saw ALI on christmas night. i am pretty torn about it. it was about 2 and a half hours. One thing that disappointed me , is that they only focused on 12 years of his career. They should have finished the movie with his "thrilla in manilla". but they didnt even mention it . they ended the movie about 5 years previous to that. they also didnt focus too much on his childhood, which i thought they would do at least 10-15 minutes on. in the movie, Will Smith does a pretty decent job of Ali's voice in some scenes, but in others, he sounds just like he normally does.. and in some camera shots, he resembles Ali, but in some scenes, he doesnt. All in all, it was a pretty decent movie, and I do recommend it.

Orange County I think opens the first or second week in January which means it sucks.

I saw Not Another Teen Movie which, except for hot chicks and a few laughs, pretty much sucked. It could have been done better.
