| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00  | What's your experiences with cell services and phones? OK... I have SprintPCS, with a Samsung 3500 phone...the service at my apartment in Queens is spotty, and when I'm out on LI, at my parents, I can't even get a fucking signal. Meanwhile I pay $40 a month ($30 deal plus like $10 in taxes and other charges never mentioned when i got the plan orig). The phone itself works fine, but I have a sneaking suspicion the antenna power on the little fucker is lacking, and causing alot of problems...that or just Sprint's coverage sucks ass. Not to mention, all those FREE minutes are never used. I'm looking at AT&T who offers a free refurbed Nokia 5165 and $29.99 a month, but am curious to what my oa board brethen have experienced and had.  Here's a tip that will save you alot of grief and time... Don't believe in and depend on anyone but yourself. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I asked, "How are the kids?" and she FLOURS.... the kids. I've been using AT&T for almost three years now and their coverage is usually pretty decent. Their digital PCS zones leave a bit to be desired (there are large gaps where outgoing text messages won't work, but you still have signal for calls), but all in all it's not too bad. I've had the Nokia 6162, 8860, and 8260 (which I have now). I know people with the 5165's and the signal is usually just as good. But of course I'm talking about Jersey, cause I don't go to LI too much. This is the US. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Apr. 01 | I have had AT&T service...It was pretty good. I now have Verizon and have been very pleased with both the coverage and customer service. Everyone I know that has Sprint drops out and my friends with Nextel like the phone to phone feature, but, say the regular phone service is the worst. Oh, and the phone I use now is the new little flip-phone that Goldstar makes...It has caller id on the outside... And the reception is by far the best out of any I've owned. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I use Verizon for my service and I think it's great. I have an Audiovox phone with Web access. It costs me $55 a month for 400 anytime minutes plus 3000 night & weekend minutes. I have yet to have any problem with signals anywhere & I travel quite a bit. My home calling area is 14 states, Maine down to South Carolina. The only thing I don't like about them is if you want to buy a better phone you have to pay full retail or wait til you've had your original for 11 months. All of the sudden I get a bill for 300 dollars stating that I only get 300 minutes. needless to say I was pissed, and when I called the company, all I got was the run around "Hey, don't laugh at me too hard! I might coach your child!!!" Being a Rescue worker at Ground Zero...Anger is too light a word to describe my feelings!! | ||||

I have VoiceStream - I had the North American Plan, but I fulfilled the one-year contract and have been month by month with them as I decide which service I want to use. Pretty much they are all the same with the minutes, so I am more interested in the service. Some of you know this, but the voice mail on VoiceStream is spotty. Twice, it took 3 days until I was notified that I had a message - another time, my call went to v-mail even though I was in an area with clean signal.  | ||||
