Has anyone had a really interesting wedding? Has anyone thought about it?

Besides the traditional Church, White dress, flowers & bow ties… what would you do?

Not like I’m in any hurry or even have any prospects, but I was thinking of it.

1. On a plateau in Nevada at Sunset. Then go back to the hotel in Vegas & throw a wild party in a suite of rooms.

2. On the beach in the morning. Then come back to party when it’s dark. Have a bonfire & a lots of seafood.

3. At midnight, outside somewhere. The bride would wear red & everyone else wears white. Party till dawn.

Well, I've been thinking about it just because our families are small so I could definitely do something cool, and I'm not religious so we can pretty much do anything...

a beach wedding sounds nice, a bonfire afterward is a kick ass idea! Thanks ladi!

I want to either get married in Belize just because it so SO beautiful! There's also a place in New Hampshire called Chapel of the Pines, right in the middle of the woods.

I'll be stoned for Christmas, You can count on me. Please have strobes and Michelobs and a place for me to pee. I'll see mom for Christmas, I'll treat her rude and crude. Oh, I'll be home for Christmas, if only for free food.

How about not! I've done it and it's so overrated... Women get caught up in the moment and forget the reason why they are doing it in the first place... take it from me.... cheap and simple.

WEll I've done it already. In fact, I'm in the process of un-doing it. We went small. WE got married in front of a justice of the peace. Then a few months later, in the summer, we threw a BBQ party for all our friends.

Would I do it that way again? Who the fuck knows. It was the right thing for US to do. We were happy with it that way. Sure, exotic storybook weddings are cool, but as long as you're in love, and you both agree 100% on the way to do it, then who cares.

That's why I want it to be all about the party. Get together anyone I (& my future half) like & want to hang out with, & just get drunk & go nuts. :)

Congratulations F-tard!

Best of luck Spit.

And 667, I do not have a split personality... unlike some people. ;)

I completely believe the whole wedding reception is too expensive, stressful to plan, and overrated.... I would rather invested towards our new home then burn though so much money for 1 night of partying.

We got married in Las Vegas in a gorgeous all wood colonial style chapel. It was really pretty. I got my Oleg Cassini dress from David's Bridal for pennies and we stayed at Mandalay Bay for two weeks. After the wedding we went to Wulf Gang pucks restaurant and chowed down on some good food and then walked straight into the casino. My best friend was my m-o-h, her boyfriend was our best man and my daddy even flew out to walk me down the isle. It was a perfect sunny day.

The only thing I wish we had done was rent out one of the large nice boats out on the Lake Mead for a few days and just had like a 48 hour celebration on there. Then again, that sounds good for our anniversary. ;)

Call me stupid but we rather put $40,000 cash down towards our home that we will live in forever instead of, 1 day that we will barely remember all details of when we get older.

Happy Holidays!

i must say thanks for the ideas.

my brother got married in vegas a few years ago. my mother wanted him to have a real wedding, so he had another ceremony & reception a month later in my aunts big back yard. it also helped that my aunt is a caterer. all my parents had to do was pay for the help & some of the food. nice.

I'm getting married in Brooklyn. Why didn't that make your list? Getting married Brooklyn should be right under getting married on the beach.

I used to have these ideas about my perfect wedding, however when I think about it realistically, it would be so expensive, it would be rediculous. Not to mention I dont have that kind of money. My dream wedding was during the fall (early evening), In a beautiful wooded area, with all the leaves red, orange, and yellow. There would be paper lanterns leading to the front where vows would be exchanged. I wanted to invite everyone as if it were a masquerade party. Afterwards the reception would be in a kick ass castle somewhere I would never be able to afford to rent out. I do know one thing though, If I ever do get married, It wont be in a run of the mill dress, maybe a victorian type dress, or something vintage from the 20's or 30's. I actually looked recently, and the dress I picked out was $4,000.00, I nearly puked. Oh well......

tick tock tick tock

is someone's biological clock ticking?

jk jk jk!

I haven't put much thought into it. I'm young, I don't wanna worry about getting married just yet. I have other things to stress over.
