I think if the wife does contribute to the husband's career, then I am all for them getting 50%, but the laws we have today are way out of control. Some money grubbing whore who is only in it for the money can be married for a matter of weeks or months to someone worth millions and is automatically entitled to half? Bull-Fucking-Shit is what I say to that! Here is what I propose. Proposal #1: If the woman has absolutely nothing to do with the man's career, then that 50% should be cut to 25%. They only get the full 50% if they were an equal partner in the man's earnings. Proposal #2: Percentage is based on how long the marriage lasted. 0-1 yr. = 5% 2 yrs. = 10% 3 yrs. = 15% 4 yrs. = 20% 5 yrs. = 25% 6 yrs. = 30% 7 yrs. = 35% 8 yrs. = 40% 9 yrs. = 45% 10+ yrs. = 50% Let's see those who are truly in it for the money stick out the 10 years if they want half. I know this may piss off some of the ladies of the board, but if you feel you are automatically entitled to half just because you said I do at the altar, then you are a money grubbing whore.

Whatever is acquired during the marriage is split 50-50 as long as it was acquired jointly. By that I mean if you purchased a home during your marriage and it was bought with only money the husband made before he married you, well I guess on top of being divorced you are homeless also. If you wanted half you should have paid for half of it. No free rides even if you have a snatch. I am sick and tired of some women thinking 2 years of marriage lands them a life long monthly income, a car and a home. Do I sound bitter? I am little jaded. I know most of you live for rumors around here, but there is none here to be whispered about. With that said I'd like to thank Hybrid and Strawberry for bringing up some things I forgot to include in my little rant.
