| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01  | Actually it's more of To start a new thread or not to start a new thread, but that would have made the title way too long. I was talking to a couple of people about this the other night saying why bother starting a new thread if it's only gonna get swallowed up by threads like Spoo (oops backwards, give me a break) or that Carol bullshit or any ass fucking crap that OAgirl25 has to contribute. We always hear "Well, if you think the board is boring, then start new threads yourself". If it's only gonna get ignored and disappear because people are more interested in posting to mindless dribble, then why bother. I did have a few threads in mind to get some new discussions going because I felt guilty about not contributing much. Now I say to myself why even fucking waste my time, no one will even notice it anyway. The next time you ask the question "Why did so and so leave the board?", the answer is probably staring you right in the face and it's usually 20-30 pages long filled with garbage.

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | first off, mangino, you're a tool ;) b. i have to admit i haven't been reading and posting on the board as much lately. but, i don't think you should be discouraged from posting a thread just because there's a bunch of stupid chat ones. threads rarely last more than a couple of days on the front page anyway and i think it seems like they're disappearing faster just because there's a bunch of monsters at the top. i've pretty much been ignoring the long threads and in between there's been a couple of decent discussions. i don't know if there's any way to change the way people are posting and as you can see, some people think the carol thread is brilliant. a couple of people have reccommended that i read the whole thing, but i really don't have the energy to. so anyway, now i'm rambling. in summary, silly threads can be fun, to a point. we can still have discussions in between the silly threads, and flock if you have a good idea for a thread, please do post it :D  need me? try: crxgirl@opieanthony.com | ||||

I don't give a rat's ass about post counts, but the random thoughts and inane statements have made me burst into laughter much like Jack Handey's "Deep Thoughts" However. Gonzo's most recent thread about what do we really feel. Had some very good posts, and was a great idea. With more people posting, it would have been even better. Did you post in that one? Or Ikea's thread about the insignificance of man. Another great thread. Have you posted an opinion in that one? What are you saying you think should be posted. "More intelligent stuff" Do you mean more things about the show? What do we like/dislike? What we think is better/worse since syndication? More What did I learns? I agree. There should be more threads about the show. What should the content be? I'm as annoyed with the chat threads too. (sidebar THE CAROL THREAD IS NOT A CHAT THREAD). I'm not going to throw the old, quit bitching, produce or leave BS that I'm surprised hasn't been brought up. Instead, I'll ask you to be specific. What do you want to see? What content? Is it just the chat's that annoy you, or are you saying that people just aren't bringing up intelligent threads to post, or posting more than one or two lines per thread? Post what you want, tool on whom you want, answer what you wnat, ignore those you want to ignore. This isn't rocket science. Sometimes you think your starting an interesting thread and it dies in a few hours. Other times someone starts total stupidity and it lives for months. The reason this place is dieing, is too many people are trying to fix something that may not be broken. Things evolve. Let it evolve, you can't change it.
