Skitch, it's not a matter of believing what you hear or read on the Internet. It's about being knowledgeable about history. And I haven't even read the urban legend website, so this might be repetitive

Iran Contra hearings were in 86. The reason that Osama is mad at the US is becuase of what he viewed as US lies and intrusion into Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War which was five years later.

It wasn't until then that he had any real major problems with the US, and he was a nobody before that time.

That speech did happen by Ollie North, but it wasn't about Bin Laden.

No in regards to the thing that the republicans were after Clinton becuase he got a blow job. Do you people actually think that's what everyone was upset about? The fact that he disrespected the oval office?

The fact is that Clinton lied under oath to Congress. He's the fucking President and he purjured himself. It doesn't matter if he lied to Congress about getting blown, the color of the sky, or any other personal issue. It was no one's business. If he had integrity, he would have said, under oath, it's none of your business, and it has no impact on how I run the country. But he didn't, he decided to be a complete scumbag and lie about that like he's lied about so many multitudes of things in the last 10 years.

Not only should he have been impeached, he should have been removed from office, and prosecuted

OAAWITE,
what the Republicans did to Clinton was as bad as what Clinton did.
They had a 8 year witch hunt.
They subjected a sitting president to answer questions about infidelities.
I may be dissappointed in Clintons behavior but do not defend what the Republican party did.
The Republican Revolution was just that,
it was a mad grab at power what ever the cost.
Or do you forget the shut down of congress.

Ken Define "witch hunt"? The "witch hunts" in Salem were bullshit as they were throwing false accusations against innocent people in an attempt to destroy them. What accusation against Clinton in this case was false?

People are so hung up on the blowjob that they are ignoring the fact that PRESIDENT OF THE FUCKING COUNTRY COMMITED PURJURY (A FELONY) IN FRONT OF CONGRESS. He's a lawyer and knew what he was doing.

Now, I'm sure most would think that Clinton should have been impeached and removed from office if he lied about raping someone, murdering someone, or being a child molester (all things which also really have no bearing on his ability to run the country, by the way). Of course I would too. But what he lied about is of no consequence. The fact that he lied is why he should have been removed from office. In my mind, I don't care what he lied about becuaes I would have cheated on that hellbeast Hillary too. Instead of lying, don't answer. It's that simple.

Now, regarding the government shutdown. Why are the republicans 100% to blame? I'm not saying that the democrats are more or less to blame, but Congress and the President couldn't agree on a budget, and becuase of that there was no budget so the Government stopped for a couple weeks. Clinton is just as much to blame for the "shutdown" as the republicans. Just like if there is no baseball this year, its' because the owners and players union can't agree on a contract. They both were too stubborn to budge and becuase of that, no agreement could be made. I don't see how that could be all the republicans fault. It's not like they were at a stalemate becuase Congress wanted to kill all the old people and Clinton wouldn't sign the bill. They were at a stalemate becuase Clinton kept vetoeing the budget that left Congress. They refused to change it, he refused to sign it.

You mentioned the "Contract With America". Before the '94 elections a bunch of Republican Congressional hopefuls had a big photo-op and signed the Contract. In it were 10 things they promised to do. If they were elected, they promised that they would do everything in their power to make sure that these 10 things would happen. Republicans won control of Congress becuase of that contract.

The shutdown occured becuase the Republicans were not able to get Clinton to agree to a couple (maybe three, I forget really) points that were promised in the Contract. People elected them do to a specific thing, they tried to keep their promise, and Clinton (as is his complete right as president) kept vetoeing it because he didn't agree with them. That's politics. But you can't go out and say that the shutdown was completely Congress' fault.

You say that Clinton lied, but what politician does not lie. Yes, he did disrespect the oval office, but then again what president's have not had extra martial affairs, I am mean way back to Thomas Jefferson. You should be happy to know that he was impeached, but he was not removed from office because the senate felt that he did not violate the standard to the constitution that a Pres. can be removed, which is high crime, treason, or misdemeanor. We all know that he did lie, but law is not always about the truth, if it was there would be allot more people in prison. I am sorry to tell but law is usually the interpretation of that law by the lawyers.
If it was not johnny C would not be a millionare.
