| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Sep. 00 | Oscar Period gih gih gih gih gih gih gih gih gih gih gih !!1 I posted the nominees when they were first announced. Someone else posted an Oscar pool thingy. Honestly, I don't cre about the ceremony. THey have the worst host possible- Whoopie Goldberg, I don't care about any of the nominees but nothing else is on tonight so I may watch it half heartedly. Best Picture- Beautiful Mind. Haven't seen it but from the trailer it seems the perfect Oscar film. Actor- Crowe because it's an Oscary role and he's popular. If they don't want to give him the two years in a row, it will go to Denzel because he's A) black, b) people said he deserved it for Hurricane. I disagree, though it was a mediocre movie, Spacey was great and c) he deserved it for Malcolm X. Washington is cool. Penn won't win since it's too much of an Oscar bait film that got mediocre reviews at best and they like to nominate him and never let him win. Actress- Nicole Kidman's the hottest and that's usually my qualification. if not her Berry Sup Actor- Ian McKellan. What he's a good actor. Havent' seen Sexy Beast but heard it was good. Note to self- rent it. Sup Actreess- Connlly, once again, really hot. I know people say she has it clicnhed but people said that about the Almost Famous Girl Director - Though I want Lynch since Drive kicked ass, Jackson seems a better bet than Howard. However Scott is a long shot but not overly impossible though I'm going to go with Jackson. Now the two awards I actually like because usually the better films get these: Best Adapted Screenplay: A Beautiful Mind Ghost World In the Bedroom The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Shrek -- Ghost World deserves it. It was a fantastic movie, despite what Ron said, and Steve Buscemi deserved a nomination however it's not going to get it. Basically, it's between Bedroom and Beautiful Mind and and Mind was written by the guy who wrote Batman and Robin but Bedroom may be too 'adult' (I never saw the film). I'm going to guess bedroom so it gets at least one. Best Original Screenplay Amelie Gosford Park Memento Monster's Ball The Royal Tenenbaums ---- Both Memento and Royal Tenenbaums deserve it but neither of them will get it. Gosford Park will be given it because it was a horrible piece of shit of a film that was supposedly smart. God damn it that film sucked.  "It appears my wee wee has been strucken with rigor mortis." I'm tired of the anti-pc getting upset. They won them cause they were good and it should be a big deal becuase hollywood has churned out crap movies for years (especially the garbage "black" movies that reinforce stereotypes).
