| O&A Board Regular Registered: Feb. 02  | About a year ago, my then boyfriend of three years proposed to me. I said no because accepting meant that I would have to move out of the country and pretty much leave my whole life behind. I didn’t want to place myself in a situation where I would be totally dependent on him financially, emotionally and socially. I felt that I would stop being myself and just become known as “his wife†and that he proposed only because he felt guilty about cheating on me. Anyway, the worst thing is that after I made the decision, I did stop being myself. I stopped going out. I have kept myself from dating anyone that would possibly become serious. I pretty much paused my life up until recently and I still don’t know that I made the right decision.  Now, a question of etiquette: as I pass, do I give you the ass or the crotch? -Fight Club | ||||

I find that usually circumstances put me in a position where the choice is obvious. Though this past week has been hellish, and has forced me to consider the future of this site in ways that I never had previously.  I believe in the Faith... that can save me. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jun. 01 | I think the most difficult decision I ever had to make was when I was walking along the train tracks near my house one day when I saw two different people with their foot stuck in the tracks. One was a pregnant woman, and the other was my girlfriend at the time. I didn't know what to do since there was a train roaring down at us at an incredibly high speed. If I chose to save the pregnant woman, I would save her and the life of her unborn child, while having my girlfriend most likely dying. On the other hand, I could save my girlfriend, but lose two lives with the pregnant woman being killed. Running as fast as I could I ran towards the tracks, and then simply laughed as I thought, 'What are these two bitches doing with their feet simultaneously stuck in the tracks?! Damn women.' So, basically, I just turned around and ran home because the Price is Right was on. I never did hear from my girlfriend again. The hardest was getting married - not doing it, but when becuase timing was sort of critical from a financial perspective. Much like Froy said, I've managed to get by in life so far by having most of the decisions I've had to make be the obvious ones. You can reach me through AIM or email. It sucked knowing that I would be hurting one of them either way by "choosing" one over the other.
