| O&A Board Regular Registered: Feb. 01  | Yeah Yeah Yeah, you know the set up one of these threads by now, but it just wouldn't be one of these without the hookline. Well, once again I had too much time on my hands and my brain just wandered away and I got to the deep thinking. What exactly is the point, the meaning, the ultimate purpose of this life we're living? Personally I really can't give you a definite answer on that, it so hard to pin point what exactly is the meaning of going through all these stages in life. But right now in my mind set I'd have to go through this reasoning, Is it money? Well...nope, because when you're dead, someone else gets it. Is it family? Maybe...but they can be a pain in the ass sometimes and you just know you had to do something along the line for them to harbor some bad memories of you. I actually came to the realization that the meaning of life is YOU, seems odd doesn't it? The meaning of living your life is you. Allow me to explain, I've tried to live my life with no regrets and try to keep my mind and thoughts relaxed and try to think that what I'm doing is the right thing for me. I figure when ya die and you had no regrets your soul is truly at rest and you can finally move on from there. (To whatever the next step is) What do you think is the ultimate meaning of life? | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Wow Austin, that was very insightful. I agree with you, but to a degree. YOU is 1 part of life. It cant be just about YOU, because then your life wont be complete. It has to be about family as well, and about religion. Me being a Christian (in the Roman Catholic Church), im not exactly the most religious type of guy in the world. However, believing in something supernatural, whether it be God or whoever else you believe in, contributes to the meaning of life. The 2nd part of the meaning of life is the afterlife, knowing that after what you do on this earth is done, that you will live once more with a being more powerful and giving than anyone can imagine. These 2 parts tie in hand in hand, because the amount of things we do in our life and the amount that we accomplish will coincide with the amount that happens to us in the afterlife. It's hard for me to break it down to just me, or my family, etc. Rather, I like to think that the meaning of life is living it - the people you meet, the love (or loves) you might have, along with the feelings of pain and loss that you inevitably feel at some point. I've tried to do and experience as much as I can so far, but I'm far from done. And Kat put it so eloquently : quote:Words to live by.
