Since we have so many movie discussions, I figured this would be a good one.

Easier to describe best endings than worst endings...
The Usual Supects
The Sixth Sense
Unbreakable
Silence of the Lambs

worst movie ending was realizing alanis morrisete was god in dogma. rooined a perfectly good movie for me.

The end to color of money left too much unanswered.

Do you know how pale & wanton thrillful
comes death on a strange hour unannounced,
unplanned for like a scaring over-friendly
guest you've brought to bed
Death makes angels of us all
& gives us wings where we had shoulders
smooth as raven's claws

Hmmmm.... dunno about worst, but American Beauty has one of the best endings I've seen to a movie in a long time. Right when he gets some clarity in his life, POW!!!!!!

And I agree with Usual Suspects.. never saw that one coming at all.

I don't want to sound ::norm voice "Gheeey"::
but Castaway had a pretty bad ending. I guess it was more upsetting than bad. Tom Hanks was finnaly rescued from the solitare isolation he so wanted to escape; but was then confronted with the loss of the women he was going to marry to the terrible enemy of time. It was not the feel good ending of the year, let's just say that.

Yo, K1dafr1ka, drop me an email. Gina is back in Jersey and said wazzup.

Yeah Fat kid. I don't care what anybody says, you take out the lesbian scenes and Denise Richards was 10x hotter in Starship Troopers than Wild Things

Worst ending in a movie for me would have to be the Blair Witch Project...sat in the theater til the end of the credits thinking there was more.

I'll be brief.....Because i would LOVE to rant on this topic

I'm a HUGEStanley Kubrick Fan.
And I waited 2 years for EYES WIDE SHUT to come out.
It was the WORSTE ENDING TO A MOVIE EVER, and after watching 3hrs of nothing, the movie ends before the plot even begins.....

What about "The Abyss"? It was a great movie right up to the last 10 minutes. Even with the scenes that were cut put back in.

"Wizard of Oz" sucked...Where was the prison? ;-)

I thought the ending of What Lies Beneath suuuuucked. It was a great movie.....until the ending. The whole thing was believable, then they had to have that dumb ass ghost thingy......how unbelievable was that. I was pissed.

I donmt care what you say, But cast away had a ver good ending in my mind, it was realistic, and actually conforming to the plot. A craptacular happy ending to that movie would have been much worse

Go fuck yourself!

John Carpenter's -Vampires . With what he's done, this was most disappointing.

Taking a page from FoundryMusicMatt, some of the greatest endings:

Shawshank Redemption
Arlington Road
Pulp Fiction-- or was that the beginning???
Point Break
Run Lola Run

Jeder oder Keiner, Alles oder Nichts

Gotta agree with Doc Smith on this one; "It" had the worst possible ending ever. I know it was on network television, but so was "The Stand" and that was at least good, except for Parker Lewis being in love with Molly Ringwald, but I digress... Worst fake giant spider ever.

When you think about it, the majority of the recent Stephen king Movies had shitty endings
Thinner
Needful things
Sleepwalkers
ETC...

The movies tend to be interesting then fall flat
