ok. here we go again. there was another school shooting in california, a few miles away from the school shooting last month. here is part of the article. I know there was a thread on something like this a few weeks ago, but I just had to show this to those who havent seen . it is fucked up.

EL CAJON, Calif. (AP) - Gunfire erupted at another high school in the hills east of San Diego, less than a month after two students were killed in a school shooting a few miles away.

Police say an 18-year-old senior armed with a shotgun and handgun opened fire at the school Thursday, hitting at least three students and two teachers with shotgun pellets.

The most serious injuries were sustained by the suspect, who was shot in the jaw and buttocks in a gun battle with a campus officer, said police Capt. Bill McClurg.

I don't know which is more disturbing

The shooting or the fact that there's an armed officer on campus.

my school and its 100+ million dollar budget has a great security system - ONE guard. There are six entrances to the building, and one guard. If anybody decided to shoot up the place, my school is fucked.

When I went to high school, there were no armed guards or metal detectors, because this shit just didn't happen. Ya take it outside and kick some ass, plain and simple.

That is true dream, the worst thing that happened in my school from a fight was someone got stabbed in the leg with a for during a fight. You just didn't use weapons when I went to school. It was the unwritten rule of fighting in school. No weapons.

At my H.S. we had fights, not shootouts also...the worst thing that ever happened was a kid getting locked in a locker for about an hour til they could cut the master lock to free him!

I graduated high school in 1997..and this was well before the breakout of school shootings, but we had metal detectors, book bag scanners, as well as at least one security guard at every entrance. With all these precautions, there was a slicing my junior year in the locker room, so I would be afraid to see what could have happened with out all the security measures. My brother is in high school now, and his school doesn't have any kind of precautions...and I worry every day....what the hell is this world coming to?

Yeah thats it its always the parents. This guy was 18 so hes an adult. If the fucking media would put a hush on this shit and the damn kids get the message that the cops will shoot to kill they would think twice. Enough is enough all fuckin ready. Put the message out and put control on guns thats it. Gun contol NOW. thats what we need. Obviously the people who own the stupid things are entirely too careless.

What these kids don't see is that high school is for only 4 years, then nobody cares if you were a jock or a nerd. They just need to deal with it and not let mean people get to them. Like my friend said after I told him that this 1 guy made fun of his best friend: Everybody makes fun of everybody else, the trick is to not come into school with a gun the next day.

people who do this shit are just pussies, and i hope they all rot in hell. if they think spraying bullets on innocent people is justified, then someone should break off every single joint they have slowly, followed by tearing off each of their limbs.

Seriously, if every kid who got abused in high school shot up their school, I would be rotting in a jail cell right now. I put up with a hell of a lot worse shit than what these kids supposedly put up with, and I never brought a gun to school...my god I never even thought about it. Parents need to stop having the media raise their children and start acting like parents. If you don't have the time to be a parent then you shouldn't be having children.

We had metal detectors, scanners, and police officers. None of these things are the answers to the problem. Its easy to toss a gun through a window - won't get detected then...So these "band aids" aren't a cure. It has to start from day one of a child's life. You need to teach them right from wrong, tell them you love them and you're their for them, give them good self-esteem and let them know that violence doesn't solve problems. Too many people point fingers and place blame where it isn't warranted; ie, music (rap), movies, video games. Last time I checked it wasn't supposed to be this way...you don't send your child off to school and wonder if you're going to have to ID them at the morgue(sp?)- that IS NOT the way to have to live... just my thoughts :)

i am a firm beliver in this:

if the media would stop broadcasting all these school shootings, the shootings would stop. So many of these kids are crying out for attention and this is exactly what they are getting.

not to mention, it is a GOOD idea to have armed officers in schools. Kids--even though they don't say it--are scared to see a gun, especially if that kid doesn't have one on his/her person.

what i don't get, is what ever happens to the parents who had the gun for their kid to get in the first place? why aren't they held responsible?

i'm in high school right now and my school has about 25 security(who are all like 90), ID cards you need to swipe to get into the school, and tolerance appreciation day(no joke). my question is what the fuck will ID cards do to stop somebody from shooting up a schoool. I think the solution to the problem would be a boxing ring in the school were the kids could fight if they had a problem without fear of all the wigger kids friends jumping or some dick head security guard breaking it up.

I graduated in 95, long before the first shooting in a suburban white neighborhood and suffice to say, I mostly took my fights outside.
We'll never fully understand what causes these kinds of shootings. Of course there are many factors that produce the end result, but we'll never truly know what caused it. And no, gun control will not work. if someone wants a gun bad enough, they'll get one.
Did you notice it's mostly the white kids that try to take out an entire high school because they get picked on?

What makes you look over here?

These days anything can happen, when i was in 7th grade in 1997, a kid brought a gun to school and all conflict was avoided when the rumor was ended and the situation was taken care of. The kid got expelled and that was the end of it. If someone wanted they could bring a gun to school and shoot someone. It's sad to imagine it. I've heard people saying that they wished they were there to just see, when i feel i would have been there to stop it, you know. We have "hallmonitors" in my school. Off-duty teachers and 40 year old jobless people who sit at desks at the entrances and do work. No metal detector or anything like that. Its a bit insecure.

You’ve obviously didn’t grow up in a house where a gun lives. There are many guns in my house, did I take one to school to shoot some one? No! You know why? Because I was taught to respect guns and how to use them safely. I don’t personally own one, because I don’t hunt or shoot much but should I be able to get one if I want? HELL YEA! Gun control will do nothing but take the guns outta the hands of people who obey the laws and respect guns. "When we have gun control, only the police and criminals will have guns." Do you know how fast it is to get a gun illegally? I could take a 5 min walk right now and have one in half of in hour. Most kids these days have no respect for anything. They all need to get the shit beat out of them. None of this time out bull shit, that doesnt teach them anything. When i was young and i did something stupid, i got smacked. I learned not to do it again real fast I'm not saying that I never did anything stupid but I am saying that I never shot or stabbed someone. If I have a real problem with some one we may go outside and throw some fists, Iv won my share but also lost my share. You’ll probably say what the fuck does this guy think he’s talking bout, he probably doesn’t even have any kids. Well I do, I have a 4-year-old son. Who already knows not to point a gun at anyone, even a toy gun. No I don’t beat him either but I will smack him when he really needs it, which isn’t often.

I guess that I’m done with my ramblings; all I wanted to do was make you think before you open your mouth and just blame guns, TV, music or anything else for what kids do (that’s something that really pisses me off). If kids don’t behave its because their parents don't teach them what's right and wrong.
