| O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | i still want to get one, even if they do track what buttons i push, and what i watch...only problem is, my tv isn't up to par with the requirements...i was told i needed a newer style tv in order to fully use tivo...anyone have one on an older tv??? | Psychopath Registered: Nov. 00 | There was a great article last summer in the NYT Magazine about TiVo/Replay and the future of TV technology... since they allow commercials to be skipped, a new economic paradigm will have to develop. Before long there will be 1000+ cable channels, super-specialized... along with targeted ads. The good news is the programming should get more diverse and less test-market driven. The real atrocious business maneuver is by Juno, the free ISP, whose Terms of Service now allow them to use your computer's extra memory whenever they want...  "I laughed! | O&A Board Regular Registered: Sep. 00 | Who really cares if TiVo reports what you are watching? TiVo is still one of the coolest "toys" to get. I got one and love it. If I have to pay the small price of information being taken from me, I'm fine with it. It's not like you watch porn on TV, and somebody is going to find out. If I watch the Simpsons on Sunday, I don't care if FOX knows it. LONG LIVE TIVO!!!  Fyfetallica is my Newbie! | ||||
