I've gotten all 3 of my tats and Big Joes...they are mainly in Westchester (Yonkers, White Plains, Mt. Vernon) and there is now one in the bronx by East 240th...prices are not bad, the work is excellent....

Hey since we are on the subject of tatoos:

I am thinking of getting one, but am a little nervous about the pain. Is it bad or unbearable?

Feel I got mine on my lower back (not on the spine) and it didnt hurt at all, it was more of like an itching/annoying sensation then anything. Just bring something to bite on and you are fine.

Thanks Grk...that is where I wanted mine and I was worried. I've gotten pierced and don't mind the feeling...actually kind of like it, so I hope I can handle at tatoo. The piece I want is kinda small so hopefully it won't be that bad. :)

feel, the sensation isn't bad, but the longer it goes on, the noise is what could get to you...near then end of the first hour, you start to hate that buzzing!!! that is much worse than the feeling...

Shotsie's is real pricey -- there were 2 in the Montclair NJ area (North NJ) Inkredible and Power house -- prices not as high as Shot's work just as good

If you can get there, go to Tribal Passages in Brick, NJ on Rt. 70...go to Desi Mooney--he's the best I know & he specializes in custom work

Slingin' Ink is good too, can't think of the name of the guy who just did a few of my friends' tattoos

And it doesn't hurt that much, my next one will be on my lower back, my first was on my ankle...Percocets do help, of course :)

Feel, just don't drink or have it done on a hot day. I had mine done on a hot day and was drinking, and I almost passed out!

The pain is minimal, I had mine on my right bicep. I will probably get another one before summer arrives.

Best of luck, and post a pic when you get it done!

Feel I have 2 tattoos and each experience was totally different. My 1st one was on my lower back horizontally across my spine. That I have to admit did hurt. The buzzing is scary at first but after a while you don't hear it anymore. It is an annoying (are u fucking done already?!) feeling, especially the outlining. Sometimes you get muscle spasms. Once he fills in with color it is bearable...but like he explained to me everyone has pressure points, some create pain, some create a good feeling. I can relate it to a bee sting...that's my best decription.
My 2nd tattoo which I just got on Sunday is on my left shoulder blade. THIS DID NOT HURT AT ALL!!!!! In fact it felt relaxing, weird eh? Afterwards, it felt like a sunburn. So my conclusion is it all depends on where you're getting it and how much detail and outlining you are getting done! Good luck! =)

My grandparents used to know of a great place their friends and them used to get tattoos during World War II, I think it's in Auschewitz, Germany somewhere.

Feel, no matter where you go, use Tattoo Goo when you're done...this shit is the best and it heals your tattoo quicker than by using Bacitracin...

I get it from Tribal Passages, but you can get it from their own site, I guess...
Visit this Website
definitely a great product, doesn't draw the ink from the tattoo and doesn't clog pores either

Well, I am definitly going back to Another Tattoo Shop for my next one. Any suggestions on what I should get on my left bicep? I was thinking of some sort of lion, since I am a Leo.

I also thought about getting the Stanley Cup with the Devils logo on it! That would be cool!

Spit...thanks for the suggestion of the Tatoo Goo. I think all of this talk is making me more nervous than anything. I have to get my tatoo in an easy to hide area because of my career goals, so I don't really have that much area to choose from.

A few mentioned the Tattoo Factory in Roxbury, I have over 13, and they were all done by Ernie White who owns the Tattoo Factory, great work.. And Froy mentioned Shotsies, also good, in fact, I think Ernie and Shotsie used to be partners when they had a shop in Butler. A few pictures of my tattoo's are hanging on the wall in the tattoo factory

Great call cracksweat, Ernie did one of mine, and the other guy in the shop did my other. I have watched Ernie work, real good, real fast, and a talkative guy to ease the fear of your first time!
