So sue me, I like these threads.

Since I have off from school this week chances are I'll see Blow or Enemy at the Gates but today I managed to see Memento and let me tell you- it fucking rocked. It's about this guy who cannot form new memories and the movie is done in a way where everything is presented backwards, hard to explain but done to perfection. It's the first really good movie of 2001, though it kind of drags a bit near the middle it definitely picks up. Ralphie from the Sopranos once again was awesome, Guy Pierce was pretty cool - all in all it's a great fucking movie.

I saw Along Came a Spider Friday night and the movie was really really good. There were a lot of twists and turns, and the movie was just the right length.

I saw Mission to Mars and unless she was sucking your dick the entire time, I can't see how ANYONE could have liked that drivel.

I saw Enemy at the Gates last weekend, and I thought it was an excellent flick. It was nice to see a WWII movie from a completely different side, to see how close we really were to speaking German today. I definately put it on a must see list.

As for Mission to Mars, before I saw it, I had heard that it had a Kubrick feel to it, and sure enough, it was a slow moving, drawn out movie. Personally I liked Red Planet with Val Kilmer much better, but of course it has its own ridiculous moments. It will however entertain the average sci-fi junkie for a couple of hour, good rental.

The only similarity it had with a Kubrick movie was... well, it had characters.

I saw Along came a spider Sunday night and the movie was awesome. Really good Suspense thriller with one of those Sixth Sense type endings that you never expected.

Saw a new Pearl Harbor preview and I am so jacked up for this movie.

i didnt go to the movies, but on the rainy cold day yesterday i rented two, two movies.. the first was "Under Suspicion" with Gene Hackman and Morgan Freeman. If you havent seen this movie yet, dont waste your money. It was the only Morgan Freeman movie that I did not like.
The second movie that i watched was "Almost Famous" Fuckin awesome movie.

I watched Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas last night. Great twisted drug crazed movie. I can't get enough of that. A great role by Benecio Del Toro, and Johnny Depp. Alot of cameo's by other great actors too.

Maynard, I also watched Fear and Loathing again this weekend...Doesn't it make you tired just watching how many drugs they do? It's best when they're inhaling the ether in the circus place!

Did anyone else read Along Came a Spider before seeing it? I was just curious how the movie measured up to the book...

I'm not being rude. You're just insignificant.

I must agree slackjaw. I saw the movie Saturday night, and I thought it was a good portrayal of the war. I did not read the book (dogs don't like to read), so I cannot compare the two.

Those god damn Russians though (no offense Gonzo)! They would shoot you if you did not fight! HOLY S!

I will probably go see Blow next, looks interesting. I like movies that are based on a true story (Goodfellas, Perfect Storm, Enemy at the Gates, etc.)

Reddog I wouldn't trust hollywood too much with those true stories. They dramatize it to the point that is completely different. It may be a good movie but don't consider it to be realistic exactly. It is usually losely based.

Thanks to my brother-in-law's "special" cable box, I was able to watch Bring it On. Good God it was horrible. Even TEEN CHEERLEADERS couldn't intrest me enough to stick it out. First time I ever saw "Fear" on MTV and that sucked. But Bands on the Run on VH1 was pretty intresting.
