[All I have to say about this is: how freakin' much do I love Mila Kunis?!? That 70s Show, Family Guy, and now this!!]

Lions Gate takes stab at ``American Psycho II''

By Dana Harris

HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Independent studio Lions Gate Prods. has given the greenlight to ''American Psycho II,'' a sequel to the controversial thriller ``American Psycho'' that starred Christian Bale.

Actress Mila Kunis, best known for her role in the Fox television series ``That '70s Show,'' will star in the film, which will be directed by Morgan J. Freeman (ensemble comedy ''Desert Blue'').

Production on ``American Psycho II,'' which is budgeted at about $10 million, is slated to begin in mid-May in Toronto.

Unlike the original, in which the titular psychotic was Wall Street yuppie Patrick Bateman (Bale), the sequel will feature a young co-ed (Kunis) as the rampaging killer.

The picture takes place on a present-day college campus, with Kunis as a sexy college freshman and deranged Bateman survivor. Having formed a darkly comedic obsession to be a certain professor's teaching assistant, Kunis' character does away with anything that gets in her way.

The original ``American Psycho,'' which was directed by Mary Harron from a script adapted by Harron and Guinevere Turner from the novel by Bret Easton Ellis, earned Lions Gate Films more than $15.1 million in its U.S. theatrical release.

``'American Psycho II' is a darkly satirical script in the spirit of the original 'American Psycho,''' said Michael Paseornek, president of Lions Gate Prods. ``The title provides a lot of built-in marketing. We have an opportunity to launch young actors and we are looking to build a good ensemble cast around (Kunis).''

Paseornek said that while Lions Gate hopes to give ``American Psycho II'' a theatrical release, there would be no guarantee until the completed film was screened. However, Paseornek also added that Lions Gate could envision a number of future ``American Psycho'' sequels.

``If we make good movies, we could have a franchise here,'' Paseornek told Daily Variety. ``It's up to us not to blow it.''

``American Psycho II'' was written by Karen Craig and Alex Sanger and will be produced by Ernie Barbarash, a co-producer of ``American Psycho.'' Sanger, who also serves as director of production for Lions Gate, will oversee the project for the indie.

She is real hot, man she looks good enough to bend over in the Aerosmith video. I bet she swallows AND gargles.

I heard about an AP2 without Bateman, actually posted it here, but didn't get the details. Thanks Dan it sounds like it can be hysterical in a good way.

Kunis is hot, I'd like to see her as a psycho I just hope they don't put in a reference to Bateman being dead or arrested or something they would just ruin the fantasy.

Okay, the original movie ended, being a ruse. No dead bodies. No actual killings. He was just a whack job in his mind. So how can she be a surviving victim? Sorry to have to question this. She is definitely, absofuckinglutely hot!

got it wrong tarp who Spolied the movie. I interpreted the ending as meaning everything prior to the night of mass killings was real until I read the book when I decided everything was real so the killings were real.
