| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | i agree as a jew and a history buff, schindlers list one of the most realistic movies about the holocaust. My grandmother who lived in russia during the war was extremely moved by the film. There is one scene that really makes me choke up and cry. There are jews who have been assigned to go through the personal belongings of the deceased jews. The jews who thought they were leaving germany or poland for salvation. There are mountains of shoes and suitcases and there is a jeweler who is going through jewlery and then a nazi officer dumps and bowl full of gold teeth pulled from the mouths of the dead. He stares at them and begins to cry, it's a hard movie to watch trully painful.  And The Earth Becomes My Throne I Adapt To The Unknown By Myself But Not Alone. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Nov. 00 | I went to a private high school. My senior year, ine of my electives was a course taugt by a survivor. At the end of the semester we went to the Holocaust Memorial/Museum in D.C. That is the most depressing place I have ever been. Gonzo talked about the seen in the movie with the piles of belongins. One room of the museum is the REAL piles. One pile 6 feet high of nothing but eyeglasses. One pile of shoes. Etc. I couldn't begin to describe all the horrifying imagery in this place. And no, I'm NOT jewish. And there ARE areas in the museum that talk about all the other victims who weren't jewish.  'Anyone who is capable of being elected president should on no account be allowed to do the job' - The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy Arthur smiled at him wanly and shrugged again. He turned and smiled wanly at the rest of the pub just in case any of them had heard what was going on. None of them had, and none of them could understand what he was smiling at them for. | ||||
