| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | $7.00 for s/h is a bit steep. I've used Imation before, not a bad disk. I've gotten nice deals at computer shows/fairs. Last time I went to a big one in Jersey at the convention center (don't wanna plug the show on the board, if you wanna know, just AIM or email me - they usually hit the center every other month), and I got a 50 pack of Sony's for $15. Outpost used to have a deal for 50 cd-rs for $20 with a $20 rebate (I got in on that one, free shipping as well). If you're hard up for blanks, now would be the time to get them though, I heard the prices are going to go up very shortly - don't quite remember why, something to do with the high demand for them now vs. less of a surplus that there once was in the general market. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | Target usually has pretty good deals on Memorex CDR's usually 50 for 16.99 or 30 for 12.99. 16x. I have a 16x writer but need a faster PC to use that fast. You could always go with the CompUSA 100 pack of 12x for 19.95. Chances are you'll end up with quite a few coasters though.

| Hanger-On Registered: Apr. 01 | It's been my experience that it's not the brand of disc that leads to coasters, but the software you use to make the discs. I've used Sony, TDK, Memorex, etc... They all usually come out perfect. It helps if you have a large swap file on your hard drive to prevent crashes while burning. Using UDMA cables helps too. Easy CD Creator seems to be the best burner program. allyourbasearebelongtous  | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | Kid, you're just bitter cause im smerter thenn youh. Look.. it's a good deal on CDR's.. glad I could be of assistance. As for burning striaght CD to CD, I recommend CloneCD.. it's VERY fast and comprehensive when it comes to that. EZCD Platinum 5 is excellent for just about everything else.. very configurable and user friendly. I have used Nero.. I find it a good program but a little to picky as far as systems go. I have a very high end PC with a quality burner.. and it buffer under runned on me several times.. EZCD did not, nor did CloneCD. WinOnCD is also VERY good but can be picky as far as burners go... if you have a supported one then you're in, and it's GREAT.. 1 feature in the 3.8 power editiion it has is to burn incomplete MP3's as CDDA tracks.. no other program out there does that, that I am aware of. A helpful hint is for those with Windows 2000, and thinking of gettin EZCD P5.. DO NOT install the "Take Two" backup software that comes with tht package. It is a known conflict with the OS, and WILL hose your entire HD. But Kid is right.. I;m two sttoppid too no whyt I am tawkn aboot.  I'm your quiet neighbor.
