The self-described ``Christian guerrillas'' were armed with two hidden video
cameras, documenting the sweaty sea of shirtless men who gyrated on the
packed, revolving dance floor as colored lights twirled above them and
smoke filled the air.

Their mission was to record any openly homoerotic displays by Disney
workers or Gay Days attendees, which they then planned to show at
Disney's next shareholders' meeting.

They believe Disney shouldn't be condoning such behavior at a
family-oriented theme park resort.

``You don't spend all year long infiltrating the minds of Americans around
the country with commercials of little kids coming and gay men cumming down to Walt Disney
World to enjoy the rides and not warn them this is not what they're going
to see during Gay Days,'' said Mawyer, president of the Christian Action
Network, a Forest, Va.-based activist group that claims to have 230,000
members and a $1.5 million budget.

Walt Disney World doesn't sponsor Gay Days, the annual gathering of gay
men and lesbians at Orlando's theme parks and nightclubs, although many
of its events are held on its property.

Gay Days events are planned this year at dozens of Orlando venues,
including Disney's Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios' Islands of
Adventures, House of Blues, Typhoon Lagoon and Wet 'N Wild Could that be any more obvious?.

Gay Days founder Doug Swallow I bet he does said he was perplexed at why Mawyer and
Vaught would bother documenting Gay Days, a weekend dedicated to
theme park rides and harmless fun.

``I really just want to know why they're so intent on doing this that they
would go to extremes to ruin someone else's vacation,'' Swallow said.

Swallow started Gay Days 11 years ago when he and friends from a gay
computer bulletin board service decided to get together informally at the
Magic Kingdom. They agreed to wear red shirts so they would be easily
identifiable. Since then, Gay Days has swelled to a multiday event that
attracts more than 100,000 gay men and lesbians to Orlando's theme parks
and nightclubs during the first weekend in June.

``Nobody seems to care about what's going on anyway,'' Swallow said.
``They've come to accept it.''

Mawyer and Vaught didn't capture anything incriminating at the dance club
Thursday night, the start of Gay Days. During their first visit in 1999, they
videotaped two Mannequins male dancers simulating sex acts on stage.

To Disney's embarrassment, they later made the videotape public at a news
conference -- a move they believe led to tamer performances at
Mannequins the following year.

Disney spokesman Rena Callahan said if guests are uncomfortable at being
at the resort during Gay Days, Disney officials will try to make them feel
comfortable.

In past years, that has included refunds and free T-shirts for heterosexual
guests who unwittingly wore red shirts.

``It's not a Disney-sponsored event, and our parks are open to everyone
every day,'' he said.
