| Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | Hey, check my sig lately? I do a lot of freelance graphics and web- design work, so it makes sense to me. My first computer was a circa-1984 Macintosh 128k. An eighth of a meg or RAM and a blazing fast 8Mhz processor. Now you can order a dual-processor 533Mhz G4 with 2 gigs of RAM. Also, for anyone who thinks the Mac sucks for games, I regularly push 50 fps on a 1995- model PowerMac with a Voodoo5 and a G4 400Mhz upgrade. This doesn't seem that impressive given the modern processor and the fast video card, but take into account the fact that my motherboard runs at 42.5Mhz. ASUS builds Mo-Bos with 400Mhz busses. My head hurts. I'm a full-time pistol-packin' skull-crackin' Windows-dissin' baby-kissin' Mac user. I've been using this (see giant image above) sig pretty much since I joined this board. And I wrote a nifty script so my sig changes every couple of posts. See? My head hurts. | Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | For games, Macs are more betterer than PCs when it comes to RUNNING them. When it comes to having software released for that platform, Macs are sooo left by the wayside. These companies DESIGN most of these games and their graphics on Macintoshes but release the majority of them on PCs only. Industrial Light and Magic uses Macs as well. And if you look at just about ANY tv show/movie/cable show, ninety-five times out of a hundred if someone is using a computer it is a Mac. Apparently Hollywood knows something that all you PC users.....ahem, I mean WINDOWS users don't. Ever notice, PC users, how your IBM clones used to be referred to as IBM compatible? But now they are referred to as Windows compatible? Heh heh. little newbie since 5-31-01 | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | Dan I am the same way. I use a Mac at home and a PC at work, and up until a few years ago I used PCs exclusively. As for the product placement, that may be true in some cases, but not in all. A lot of times the computer is shown, but not the logo. I have seen a few iMacs and G3 towers, etc. in TV/movies that weren't screaming Apple. I doubt Apple pays for a plug when their logo isn't even shown. BTW, Dan, you know anything about getting Mac MSIE to NOT break up HTML code in a post here when you are trying to post a pic? little newbie since 5-31-01 | ||||
