Authority Song

They like to get you in a compromising position
They like to get you there and smile in your face
They think they're so cute when they got you in that condition
Well I think it's a total disgrace

CHORUS:
I fight authority, Authority always wins
I fight authority, Authority always wins
I been doing it since I was a young kid
I come out grinnin'
I fight authority, Authority always wins

So I call up my preacher
I say, "Give me strength for Round 5."
He said , "You don't need no strength, you need to grow up son."
I said, "Growing up leads to growing old and then to dying
"And dying to me don't sound like all that much fun."

:|| CHORUS

Oh no oh no
I fight authority Authority always wins

:|| CHORUS

Oh I got it from the beginning!

Senior Tour returns to Concord, final stop before U.S. Open
June 22, 2001

CONCORD, MASSACHUSETTS (TICKER) -- The Seniors are coming. The Seniors are coming.

The Senior PGA Tour returns to the site of the "Shot heard round the world" on Friday for the FleetBoston Classic, the last event before the U.S. Senior Open.

This is the 18th consecutive season this tournament -- which has had three other sponsors since it debuted in 1981 -- has been at the Nashawtuc Country Club in Concord, the starting place for the Revolutionary War.

Next week, the tour moves to a Boston suburb for the third major championship of the season -- the U.S. Senior Open at the Salem Country Club in Peabody.

Last season, Larry Nelson began a late-season surge here with his first of four wins in five starts -- a hot streak that helped him to Player of the Year honors.

Nelson shot 14-under-par 203 to cruise to one of his six titles of 2000. Jim Thorpe finished second, four shots behind Nelson.

Nelson started the 2001 season with consecutive victories but has gone winless in 14 starts since. Two weeks ago, he withdrew from the NFL Golf Classic due to neck pains, after shooting an opening-round 77.

Hale Irwin and Tom Kite -- the oldest two competitors at last week's U.S. Open in Tulsa -- are in the 77-player field. Irwin led after the opening round at Southern Hills and Kite closed with a 6-under 64, matching the best round of the week.

Irwin enters this week leading the Charles Schwab Cup standings with 1,087 points, just 36 more than Gil Morgan and 86 better than Allen Doyle. The winner of the year-long points race will claim a $1 million bonus.

Irwin, the 1997 and 1998 champion at Nashawtuc, has won twice this season and has nine top-10 finishes in 12 starts.

The field also includes Bruce Fleisher, Doug Tewell, Andy North, Doyle, Dana Quigley, Jose Maria Canizares of Spain, Mike McCullough and Jim Colbert.

Golf legend Arnold Palmer also is among the list of competitors seeking the $210,000 top prize. The total purse is $1.4 million

Welcome back Arnold!

Solich: Collins, Brown status pending; Stella likely to return

By DOUG ALDEN
AP Sports Writer
June 21, 2001

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Nebraska running back Thunder Collins and kicker Josh Brown will remain part of the team as the investigations into their recent arrests continue, coach Frank Solich said Thursday.

Collins pleaded innocent Wednesday to two counts of misdemeanor assault for a fight with his girlfriend. He has a trial scheduled next month.

Brown was arrested over the weekend and cited on two counts of third degree assault. He has not been charged and is scheduled to appear in Lancaster County Court on July 10.

Solich said the players could be disciplined later, but for now he wants to see where the investigation goes.

``We're just at a standstill until we're able to get a little bigger picture of the whole thing,'' Solich said. ``But just because there's a little bit of a delay doesn't mean that there won't be any disciplinary action. I don't want to try to steer anybody thinking one way or the other.''

Solich said he held an informal meeting this week with his players who are in Lincoln for the summer and talked about the recent off-field incidents.

``With this job there are very high expectations as far as winning. But there are also very high expectations as far as players doing the right thing,'' Solich said.

The 21-year-old Collins will be a junior in the fall and was listed at No. 2 on the depth chart after spring practice. He faces two counts of misdemeanor assault. He is accused of fighting on June 10 with his girlfriend, Nebraska basketball player Shannon Howell, who has asked to have the charges dropped.

The 22-year-old Brown, a junior who has been Nebraska's starting place-kicker for the past two seasons, was arrested early Saturday after fighting with a man who had been out on a date with Brown's ex-girlfriend. The woman tried to get between Brown and the other man, Brown threw her to the ground before tackling the other man and punching him, police said. The two men scuffled before the other man gained the advantage, pinning Brown to the ground shortly before police arrived.

Solich said the situations are different from other players he suspended immediately after they were arrested. Former receiver Shevin Wiggins was charged in 1999 with sexual assault of a child for allegedly fondling a 14-year-old girl. He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge a year later.

Linebacker Mark Vedral was charged last spring with sexual assault. He was suspended immediately and only allowed to return to the team after he was acquitted.

Brown hasn't been charged with anything and Collins faces misdemeanors, not felonies.

``Where that's all at and how far those charges will go and what will actually happen I think remains to be seen,'' Solich said.

Solich also said suspended linebacker Randy Stella likely will be back with the team when fall camp opens. Stella, who will be a junior if he returns to the team, was suspended before spring practice for violating an undisclosed team policy.

Solich will not say what Stella did to get in trouble, but said he has done just about everything he had to in order to work his way back on to the team.

``I think Randy's always been a good kid. But there were just things that needed to get worked through and I believe those have been worked through,'' Solich said.
