When i was 3, i jumped off the top of a jungle gym. I dont remember the event so much as i remember the pain from the injury i recieved. Broke 3 bones in my left hand. Meh....

And your face drops in a pile of flesh
And then your heart, heart pounds
Till it pumps in death
Prime directive, exterminate
Whatever stands left"

When i was 2 (maybe 3, not sure)...i remember being put into a carriage and my family went walking outside, shopping i think..and my mom and dad were discussing wether or not they should still put me in the carriage or if i was old enough to walk about the streets.

Later that night i remember watching a Devils game while laying on my dad's stomach.

Another old memory.. from when I was in First Grade.. this one's a warm fuzzy....
Anyway.. My mom's belly had been slowly growing over the past 9 months..I had even talked to the little person once or twice and been replied to with a kick or two....
So.. I'm in Mrs. Schultz's class when one of the Principal's aides comes in and says I'm wanted in the office.. now.. being 7.. I have NO clue what's going on.. and I'm just hoping I can get a cookie out of Mr. Cherichello's Snoopy jar.. they hand me the phone and it's my mom.. letting me know the little fellow decided to finally show up..
I head back to the classroom (BTW.. all my classmates knew my mom was "pregnant") with THE biggest shit eating grin on my face..
I stand in the doorway..everybody..I mean EVERYBODY (both first grade classes were in the room) was quiet and staring at me.. impossible, but my grin gets even bigger.. and I shout "It's a Boy!!" and the ENTIRE first grade starts cheering.. we didn't do ANY work for the rest of the day.. perhaps one of the happiest days in my life.. and it wasn't even MY day lol.. go figure...

I was two or three at the time. I was handing tools to my dad while working on a car inside a carpit (a pit park the car over and stand under the car). I was wearing my new bright red jacket. My dad did not see me move and opened the drain plug for the oil. I walked out wearing my new black jacket. It was pretty funny once I stopped crying,

Thanks for sharin', people. All of these memories, good and bad, are really fascinating to read about.

Especially, Lord Magus, about the day your Little Brother was born, that's fantastic. What a beautiful thought to keep in your mind. I hope it makes you smile every time you think about it, the way it makes me smile when I read your post.

It is funny that a lot of early memories involve cold and snow, isn't it? Maybe, because cold is such a shock to the system, it perhaps "wakes our senses" in a way, and helps us to remember?
I recall being about 3 1/2, sledding with my Big Brother. Well, "Tobogganing", with a garbage pail can?? Anybody else ever do that? It's a trip.

Man, was that the most fun ever. & I felt so safe, because I was with my Big Bro.

I remember sitting in my crib or bed, thinking to myself, "I'm not supposed to be here". I kept on having this strange sense that I should be somewhere else...and that I was only
dreaming. This other place, I was older, in a
hospital bed or regular bed...and there were
people around me. I actually would shut my
eyes, thinking that I could somehow get back
to that other place...the place I was
"supposed" to be.
Makes ya think, don't it?

Gooch, that's really fucking spooky, no lie. Gives me the chills when I read that, especially bacause I had a lot of weird thoughts and dreams as a child-hell, I still do......

That remark was supposed to have a ;) at the end of it, all along....oops. So I get an "F" in Proofreading. Hey, blame it on my childhood ;)

It's social. Demented and SAD, but social.

I hate people, but I love gatherings. Isn't that ironic.

Mine similar to "grkqt"s. I wandered out to the back steps of my house's sunporch, and found what turned out to be a old half-full can of beer that my dad had left out there a night or two before. I slugged some of it, and puked after I gagged on a couple of cigarette butts he had put out in the can. My mom later found my puddle of my puke. She saw puddle next to the can, with the butts mixed in little bits of alphabet soup that I'd had for lunch -- she put 2+2 together, and let my dad have it!
[I still grew up to be a beer-lover, nonetheless.]

I have one where I was on my big wheel, and I was riding it down to the deli with my older brother on his bike. We went to pick up a 2 liter of coca cola. On the way back, He'd hold on to my big wheel and we'd go as fast as possible on the bike and the big wheel. I never dropped the soda either. I was about 4 then.
