| Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | I was just having this convo last nite with my best friend. We're going to go to Hypnosis together to stop. It's 60 bux for the session and they're usually at hospitals. The first 45 minutes are free and you then decide if you want to continue, then you pay the fee. And once you pay, if for some reason you start, you can go again and again for free. I always see ads for them in Newsday and the Pennysaver. Good luck and keep strong ;)  I just can't believe all the things people say. Why must I deal with this shit every fucking day. grr i can't stand this broken line stuff. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | I quit cold turkey on my birthday almost 3 years ago. I picked the date about a month in advanced, psyched myself up, and smoked my balls off. Of course working on an oncology floor at a local hospital had something to do with my determination to stop and stay stopped, but I believe tht if I can do it anyone can. Just be prepared to be irratible and cranky for a couple of months, but once that passes you'll be really happy you stopped. Good luck sweetie!!! When i got the urge to go buy a pack of cigarettes i would take the money and put it in a jar and at the end of the week i would take the money and go buy something...like a shirt or a pair of shoes! Try that...maybe it will work on u too. ANd good luck! :) whats wrong and right. Is where you'll find me waiting for you. | ||||

And it gives women cancer twice as often as it does men. Not only that but it'll give you wrinkles. When my grandmother was in the hospital (she's fine, btw), the lady next to her was dying of lung cancer. She looked 90. She was 50. It was not pretty. Not one bit. That sort of stuff aint pretty. Do it for your own good. And I don't know how everyone else feels, but seeing a girl smoking turns me off. Now, psychologically speaking, Freud would say you didnt get enough oral stimulation when you were young. So try chewing gum or on pens or something. Or do something completely different to relieve your stress when you get the urge, like kneading one of those squeeze-ball thingies.

So i thought this was all well and good... ...until I had to get ready for work... ...a bud called unexpectedly, and I usually smoke when on the phone and with my parents gone. the Marlboro Menthols were in my sock drawer. I did not reach for them. ...I took a shower, and I reeked of smoke from last night.... it was nasty... helped me want to stay "quitted" got ready for work and whatnot, putting the Menthols in my bag. got to work, and gave them to my bud there who buys me the cigs ((i'm 17, remember??)) in the 5 hours I worked, I was smacked in the head with a wooden shelf, bitched at by my kid touching boss, and my sometimes annoying co-workers who don't understand why i'm so damn nuts all the time. I get home, my bro and his bud start yapping about my Bar 9 thing, knowing my parents were around and that I could get in deep shit for going to a bar in nyc. Their baby is an angel... bahh hahahaha I watched the Daily Show... usually smoke after that ourside. ... I didn't smoke all day tho ... And to top it off, my friend and I joined a health club, she came into my job and she put my name on her account or whatever the fuck you call it. Plus I found out no more underage drinking at board parties... ...WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING HERE?! Sober Shelle is fun tho too. =) Thanks for the support everyone... and if I bitch at you, fuck no it's not the lack of nicotine, it's just me =P ::hugs:: Love you all. MamaCaz -- Fuck no, i'm not getting pregnant for a LONG LONG time...
