| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jul. 01  | This weekend marked the annual family reunion on my mom's side. God I hate those people. It's a mix of all these strange combinations... Some full blood Native Americans, and others being the biggest Polish... whatevers. The food was terrible, per usual. It was a good day, and I still left not knowing who the hell half my family was because I just hid out at the lake all day. That really brought me to this post. I know it's been said MILLIONS of times, but I think it should be re-said for the hell of it. This Board is family. We fight, we bicker, but in the end, you know we all give a damn about each other in one way or another. True, it's not that case in every situation ((God I wish I could be "banned" from my biological family)) but it doesn't make it any less true. After all... we have "Uncle Gonzo" ((ever notice most pedaphiles have 'uncle' in their name?)) and "Big Bros" on the board that look out for the Teen Chicks like myself. I'm even more comfortable going to board functions than spending time with my extended family. I always feel awkward introducing myself to people that look like me. I'd rather meet new people that would rather like me for who I am, than like me for the family's sake. Maybe it's the whole idea of getting laid at board functions as well, I mean, who wants incest? So, let me end before everyone hates me more by saying I LOVE YOU ALL... even if I bitch and moan at you and shit like that, never think that I don't care. | Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | I'm sorry to hear that you don't like your *real* family Shelle... and I understand when you say friends seem more like family to you.. HOWEVER, on the flip side of things... I come from 2 AMAZING families. My mother is the oldest of 9 & my father is one of 6 (what can i say, we're Catholic) with the exception of an uncle in Texas & a few in Jersey we ALL come from Queens & still live in the Metro area. I have 24 cousins on one side (mostly my age) and 26 on the other. We were brought up like brother's & sisters. Since my mother is the oldest of her siblings, I have uncles that are only a bunch of years older than me... They're wives are still having children, so my son has a TON of playmates only a few streets away & I have the best advice givers in my aunts... I love my family so much... If it wasnt for them, being so supportive & loving, I wouldn't have been able to choose to keep my son. although my son has a dead beat father, he is one of the luckiest & loved babies in the world. And it shows I am so proud of where I come from & the most important thing to me is love of my family. Wherever my life takes me, when i loose friends due to immature crap or just growing apart, it never gets me down because I have such an amazing family who are also some of my best friends... I'm sorry you are unable to experience this, but I think its great you find it in others... My real family and I are so close and I love all my relatives to death but there are some people on this board who I love and respect just as much as those in my biological family. Like Shelle said we've got everyone on this board from the protective big brothers to the kid touching uncle and Shelle I love you like a sister. Well not exactly like a sister but you get the point.
