Also as much as the terrorist attacks are deplorable and should be stopped we cannot stand by while Israel sponsors State Terrorism. We as a species will not elevate ourselves until we learn to say no to wrongdoing. Sure it may serve in our best interests. But is that worth human rights of people all over the world? Iran used to be the greatest ally in the middle east for the US. The people turned a blind eye to that and look what has happened. We as a people need to unite aganist injustice aganist our fellow humans because in the end it may end up being you. AM, all of your points are valid; But Swallow, I agree with you more. Bottom line, the United States is a good and (so far) generally free place to live, with a decent economy. The majority of us have enough to eat (not that that fact makes the homeless & hungry among us any less of an issue that we have to help solve). We do still have the right and privilege to editorialize and complain and fight back. That is rare on this Earth. We certainly have to ensure that we do not lose those rights. Censorship is insidious. We must keep vigilant. O I am not saying this country is perfect-far from it. We have been as fucked up & evil as any other country, in regards to political prisoners, sick underground tests, experimental diseases. But I love this country, warts & all. I do wish to thank every member of the Armed Forces who has defended it. *Thanks Lord D for the Soapbox loan, & jumps down* Everyone have a lovely Star-Spangled Day, wontcha?  I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it. The pains which it inflicts upon unconsenting animals is the basis of my enmity towards it, and it is to me sufficient justification of the enmity without looking further. It is so distinctly a matter of feeling with me, and is so strong and so deeply-rooted in my make and constitution, that I am sure I could not even see a vivisector vivisected with anything more than a sort of qualified satisfaction. I think owning a gun doesn't make you a killer. I believe it's called the Boy Scouts for a reason. I don't think being a minority makes you noble or victimized. I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac, you'd better do it in English. I don't use the excuse "it's for the children" as a shield for unpopular opinions or actions. I think fireworks should be legal on the 4th of July. I think that being a student doesn't give you any more enlightenment than working at Blockbuster. In fact, if your parents are footing the bill to put your pansy ass through 4-7 years of college, you haven't begun to be enlightened. I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God. I think if you are in the passing lane, and not passing, your license should be revoked, and you should be forced to ride the bus until you promise to never delay the rest of us again. Its interesting that the US backs up every UN resolution, except ones that are against israel..go to www.un.org and search for 'resolution' and 'israel' - its some informative reading. Arpikarhu- I agree, there are groups with heavy anti-semitic, neo-nazi messages that speak with some of the same rhetoric; that, however, doesn't make it false.
