They had a skit called "The Grungees" - it was a parody of the Monkees, where Ben was all decked out like Chris Cornell in his Jesus phase, and it was funny as shit. The State, too - "Sit your ass down in that pudding!" [soapbox]Of course, herein lies the problem - none of these things have to do with MUSIC, therefore proving that MTV's best moments have all completely missed the point. | Psychopath Registered: Jul. 01 | I have to go with Beauty and the Beach on their Spring Break coverage back in the early 90s. Some of those girls were basically wearing nothing. The State was great. A friend of mine in college had the "best of" tape and we watched it all the time. I love the skit with the two guys and the pile of pudding. | Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 01 | In the 80s, MTV was THE place to get information about favorite artists. The videos rocked and cartoons were cool. But a favorite would have to be a little known show (based on how fast it was killed) called Sifl & Olly. Two sock puppets hosting a sort of interview show. Stupid and silly but it was really funny. Ren and Stimpy (before the sell out) and Beavis and Butthead were great too. A few years ago, they had a Sifl & Olly marathon and yeah, I called in sick to tape it.
