August 22, 2001 The Nintendo GameCube has been delayed until November 18th in North America, according to Nintendo's Spaceworld Press Kit. This shocking news comes after the system was announced for a November 5th release date. This places the GameCube about two weeks later than it's original release date as well as two weeks after the launch of Microsoft's Xbox console that hits streets on November 8th. Nothing against Zelda, nothing against Anime (which I think rocks) but that game looks pretty damned bad. And looking at all the technology of Mario Sunshine, how far graphics have come, how detailed the houses are, how far we, in a video game culture have come- do any of you, does anyone really, feel the same excitement watching or evem playing that as you did when you got the first racoon leaf in Mario Three, ran across the platform, dodged the Koopa Troopa, and flew at the beginning of level 1, area 1?  The narrator in Fight Club is the man we will be, Patrick Bateman in American Psycho is the man we want to be Eliza Dushku- Hotter Than Brittny | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | i'm a loyal nintendo fan, but now i'm very disappointed. i'm sure the zelda game will be great, but those cartoony graphics are just too fucking much. shit, why coulnd't it look like what was previewed before?? and the delay is even worse, that will only boost that garbage xbox sales. shit. at least there are many other GC games i'm looking forward to.  | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Nov. 00 | this is a really stupid move by nintendo in my opinion for 2 reasons 1. they obviously have the edge pricewise as the gamecube retails at 200 dollars while the xbox is coming out for 300 dollars, its just common sense 2. also nintendo has the more recognizable titles and reputation, thought they kicked themselves in the ass with the n64, they still have the names to drive sales with, and microsoft doesnt have anything too highly recognizable that is all

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | 1) As far as I've heard, the shots of Link that have gotten out so far are Link as a child. Supposedly he grows up throughout the game, complete with an update to his image. 2) Mario Sunshine does sound gay, but if Nintendo stays as kid-oriented as they've been, it's not going anywhere. 3) Nintendo is getting really cocky, but it might still be okay for them. Xbox is $100 more. GC will probably hook every child (as N64 did) - especially since they've already announced a Pokemon game. PS2 and XBox will probably be the popular choice among the real gamers (even with PS2's choppy-shit graphics, sorry supporters), and GC will be a kiddie system even if Nintendo says it won't.  Me droogies: HydratedPeach is siiiiingin' in the rain. Syndra has graduated and will one day take on droogs of her own. One position available.
