| Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00  | The problem I have is when I connect to the internet cannot receive or send any information. Any program that tries to do this (Internet Explorer, AIM, etc.) will have an error message pop up saying "This program has performed an illegal operation.", and it will be exited. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Windows 98, AIM, and IE but nothing has worked. Any suggestions would be helpful since I'm stuck on this other slow, crap computer. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Have you tried running a full virus scan on all of your drives? If so...next question - if you uninstalled and reinstalled Win98, did you do it cleanly, meaning formatting the drive? If not, you didn't really reinstall it - you just "laid it over" the layer that was there, despite uninstalling it - and this wouldn't fix any problems that might have been there. The only other thing I can think of is maybe your firewall software has gone buggy (assuming you are using a firewall software program?)
