| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I've been disillusoined with the FF series since the 1st one where I got to the last level only to have my memory COMPLETELY erase. Than for some reason I did it all over again and got to the last level again (have no recollection of what its called) and what happens? IT FUCKIN ERASES AGAIN. Terrible thing for an adolescent to endure. Then FF3 for the Super NES was cool but I could never beat it so it pissed me off as well. Never got a PS so I never played FF7 or any other one. Why am I telling you this? Cause I have nothing better to do at 5:25 AM on a Saturday. | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | Now while I agree that Final Fantasy 7 is one of the greatest games period, I think my favorite RPGT's are two old school Genisis titles. Futristic wise, Phantasy Star 2 was great but all around, I go with Sword Of Vermilion. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: May. 00 | RPGs are games where your character starts off weak and gains power by killing things. You kill things, you get experience points. You get enough experince points, you gain levels. With levels you get more skills and spells. Along with skills and spells, you get more 'hit points' and 'mana points'. Hit points are like health points and mana points are the amount of magic you can use at a given time. It's a lot similar to Dungoens and Dragons, except that it's a single player game and not quite as geeky. The games are long, sometimes you're just out there killing the same monsters over and over to collect gold and experience points. Most people play because of the Story line, or the challenge of the clues given by the game. Also, Silent Hill isn't a Role Playing Game, it's more of an Adventure game. | Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 02 | i was playing ff3 again the other day and i think it's insane how far gaming has come grafic-wise. still, ff3 has a great story line and it's the first rpg i ever played. when i was really young i didn't know how to save and i didn't understand the game so i almost threw it out. thank god i didn't! when i finally realized how to play i was hooked. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I'm gonna go old school with this one and say my favorite of all time has to be Shining Force 2 for the Sega Genesis. I loved the idea of having a 10-12 party army that fought at the same time against a shitload of enemies. These 4 man army games just don't excite me as much as SF2 did. To this day I still haven't been able to find a game for PC or console that can match it.
