Ya, pick up "EverQuest Trilogy" and then Shadows of Lucin. Velious stinks but Kunark is needed cause Iksars rock and Lucin is needed cause the new models are cool.

And the angel of the lord came unto me, snatching me up from my place of slumber. And took me on high, and higher still until we moved to the spaces betwixt the air itself. And he brought me into a vast farmlands of our own midwest. And as we descended, cries of impending doom rose from the soil. One thousand, nay a million voices full of fear. And terror possesed me then. And I begged, "Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?" And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots! You see, Reverend Maynard, tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust." And I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat like the tears of one million terrified brothers and roared, "Hear me now, I have seen the light! They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul! Damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses! Save our brothers!" Can I get an amen? Can I get a hallelujah? Thank you Jesus. Life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on........ This is necessary. It was daylight when you woke up in your ditch. You looked up at your sky then. That made blue be your color. You had your knife there with you too. When you stood up there was goo all over your clothes. Your hands were sticky. You wiped them on your grass, so now your color was green. Oh Lord, why did everything always have to keep changing like this. You were already getting nervous again. Your head hurt and it rang when you stood up. Your head was almost empty. It always hurt you when you woke up like this. You crawled up out of your ditch onto your gravel road and began to walk, waiting for the rest of your mind to come back to you. You can see the car parked far down the road and you walked toward it. "If God is our Father," you thought, "then Satan must be our cousin." Why didn't anyone else understand these important things? You got to your car and tried all the doors. They were locked. It was a red car and it was new. There was an expensive leather camera case laying on the seat. Out across your field, you could see two tiny people walking by your woods. You began to walk towards them. Now red was your color and, of course, those little people out there were yours too.

I think Everquest is on it's way out. They're increasing their prices, offering a new premium service, and releasing another expansion without fixing the POS one they have out now.

You buy EverQuest, the rest are expansions that allow you to go to different continents in the EverQuest world. Like Kunark, Velious, and Luclin. Kunark and Luclin also add new races to play and Luclin adds a new class.

If you just want to start out just buy this.
Visit this Website

But I recommend you buy this. It makes it easier.
Visit this Website

Then when you are higher level you buy this.

Is that so complicated? hehe

They just announced Everquest is being made for the PS2. It will take place before this everquest and be toned down for a 56k modem.

EverQuest Adventures actually sounds kind of interesting. It takes place 500 years before the original EverQuest.
quote:

EQOA is set 500 years before the original EverQuest so Antonious Bayle is not yet alive. The migration to Odus has not yet been completed and there are still Elves on Tunaria (it is not yet known as Antonica). We have built the world from scratch, you can visit many places which are familiar in EQ but don't expect them to look the same or even have the same inhabitants

Reuters Technology <----Better then (AP)
Sony Division to Develop 'EverQuest' for PS2

By Ben Berkowitz

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The U.S. online game arm of Sony Corp. (6758.T)(NYSE:SNE - news) said on Tuesday it plans to put its popular PC game ``EverQuest'' on Sony's PlayStation 2 console next year, bringing one of the best-selling game titles ever to the console.

The game likely will serve as a marquee for the PS2's new online capabilities, which will begin to roll out this summer.

The plans mark a milestone of sorts for Sony Online Entertainment because it is the first time the online entertainment division has licensed a product to its sister company, Sony Computer Entertainment of America, which handles the PS2 in North America.

Under the agreement, Sony Online has officially become a licensed PS2 publisher, which will allow it to convert some of its other properties to the console platform.

It plans to launch ``EverQuest Online Adventures'' as a subscription, online-only product in spring 2003, though no monthly price has yet been set.

The PC version of EverQuest, considered by video game players to be among the 50 best electronic games ever, has more than 400,000 subscribers and has spawned multiple expansion packs. The last expansion pack sold 120,000 units on its first day.

The game, which made it debut in March 1999, is generally considered a model for successful online gaming, although it has been called addictive by some health professionals.

Still, making ``EverQuest'' available online should boost interest in the Web capabilities of the PS2, which has been a huge success as a video game and DVD player, but has lacked online capabilities to date.

In early March, Sony Computer Entertainment of America, also known as SCEA, announced it would release an adapter for the PS2 in August that will allow the console to connect to the Internet, either through a dial-up or broadband connection, for competitive online gaming.

At the time, SCEA said it planned to have at least a dozen titles available at launch.

The PS2 has USB expansion ports that have gone largely unused since the console was launched in November 2000, though Scott McDaniel, vice president of marketing for Sony Online Entertainment, said the new EverQuest will likely take advantage of the ports for data entry purposes.

``Arguably, you could plug a USB keyboard into it,'' he said. ``We will be supporting that method of data entry.''

The PS2 version will not be a ``port'' or rewrite of the PC game.

``It's completely new from the ground up,'' McDaniel said.

The PS2 version of ``EverQuest'' will be more friendly to introductory gamers than the PC version,
he said.

``It is a hard game to play, to be quite honest,'' McDaniel said, noting that the PS2 version will have more obvious cues on how to play.

One feature I hope they put in for the Playstation 2 version is the need for skill. EverQuest (the glorified chatroom) needs something different for the PS2 version. Not much skill needed for "push Auto-Attack button", "go get something to drink", "push sit button", "take a nap", "repeat".

I played Everquest until I reached level 57. I had a Druid with some really good items and was part of one of the best guilds on the server. Then one day I started getting agitated with EQ because the majority of the player base is composed of kids who were picked on in school, so they go on this game to try and make themselves superior to others with a bunch of pixels on a screen. I ended up dropping the game one day. It really isn't that hard to quit at all. I have to admit that it's like a drug for a while. But if you have a half descent life outside of Everquest, uninstalling the game from your PC pretty much cleans the slate and you don't go back to thinking about it. That was the case for me anyway.

Dude, I don't even know what all the hype about this game is for. It's not addictive. It's ok and everything, but nothing to hoot and holler about. I played it for about three weeks. Didn't like it too much, so I ended my subscription.

I really can't wait until "City of Heroes" comes out. Now that's a game I can get into.

It doesn't really start to get that addictive until you reach a higher level. If you noticed , Anthony used to vaugely mention EQ when he was in the lower levels. Once he started getting higher, he began to make it like a regular segment. Once you get into the game you begin to steadily get sucked deeper.

you don't understand. There is only one version of EQ you HAVE to have the rest of the things you are confusing with other forms of everquest are Expansion packs they are NOT stand alone games they simply add new content to the original game and are not strictly neccessary to own (you'll just get popped of boats and such if you try to go to one of the expansion zones).

Clearer now?
