| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01  | I think the point here is long term value.2 years from now DC will be gone.Sega will be making games for ALL consoles.Yes we the PS2 owners eill buy sega games for the PS2.WE get the best of both worlds.DC lovers will buy X-box and take the chance with microsoft.And the cube for me is a wait and see.PS2 will be the king once again next year.:) | ||||

So what the DC is better or as good as the PS2 was my point. Which you did not refute. I havent had an Apple since the IIgs so I really dont know which is better anymore. See, PC's kinda took over the market...which is what has happened with the Playstation. Apple used to make a good computer(one that WAS better than a PC) but they kinda got their asses beat in the market because PC's were a tad cheaper. And everyone made PC's, while only Apple made Apple's. The PC became the standard, like the Playstation is the game console standard now. It isnt a waste of money to own the system that is going to be the standard for the next two or three years or so. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Sarcastro i wasnt argueing the point with you.It was meant for the others who say buying a PS2 is'nt worth it.I didnt have a DVD player before i bought PS2.My playstation that i had was like at least 5 6 years old.It wasnt playing the games that great in the end.So i was excited about the PS2 at launch.Yes right now it's not as terrific as the hype had it,but thats why its called hype.I said before DC has great sports games.Madden is awesome for PS2.NBA2K1 is great on DC.So if you like you DC i'm sure you'll really like PS2. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 00 | None of the hardware manufacturers make much on hardware, all profits have always come from the software arm. I love my N64 (Conker was amazing), love my dreamcast (still playing Jet Grind, afraid to start Shenmue due to time), but there are no games that draw me to the PS2 yet, so I'll keep playing Lunar2 on my old machine. | Psychopath Registered: Nov. 00 | Sega dicked itself over long before the Dreamcast. Anyone remember the Sega CD debacle? Sega had a nasty habit of seeming to come out with new consoles almost every year, and then promptly abadoning the old ones. It kinda eroded consumer faith in Sega sticking with anything. So, Sega was never gonna be the top console choice because you can never trust Sega to stick with any console it makes(See Dreamcast, latest example). Why buy a console from a company that's already coming up with a new console to bring out next year that wont play any of the games from the old console? Its a good thing Sega got out of the console market. They were never gonna get anywhere with their reputation. | ||||
