Is anybody else confused about the belts in the WWF/WCW now, im not talking about the heavyweight titles, but the US and IC titles and other smaller titles. It is pissing the hell out of me that every time I watch wrestling I find out a new champion that I didn't even think was still wrestling.

I think the main problem is, with so many titles, the word "champion" becomes meaningless. Right now, by my count, the WWF/Alliance have 10 titles (maybe more, I might have missed one), which means that potentially, 22 guys can claim to be a champion at any given time. And you also know that, within a week, at least 2 or 3 of those titles will change hands. It's too much, it's overkill, and it goes against everything wrestling is supposed to mean. Champions are supposed to be the cream of the crop, and title victories should be much more important than they are portrayed. And people want them to bring in the ECW titles too??

I say for now, they should phase out the more meaningless belts, and unify the ones that are remaining. If they do split into two promotions down the road, then at that point they can de-unify the belts, but that's not the point right now. All they really should have is the WWF/WCW Heavyweight, IC/US, WWF/WCW Tag, and WWF/WCW Cruiserweight titles (and possibly bring back the Cruiser tag titles, but I'm dreaming there...).

Less titles = more meaningful title wins and stronger championship reigns

More titles = champions nobody gives a fuck about because everyone has a belt anyway
