I am now sitting here watching the VMA's and I realized that when they were announcing who would be appearing that no WWF names were named. Last year they had (I think) The Rock and I know they had Chyna. Guess that WWF talent isn't good enough for the VMA's anymore. Go figure.

Wrestling isn't the mainstream darling it was a year ago. Wrestling popularity goes in cycles, and gets really, really popular every few years; right now it's just coming down from the highest popularity peak it's ever experienced. Within about four or five years it'll become "in" again, and MTV will be begging Vince to let them borrow one of his stars.

maybe I'm just a big wrestling fan, but I've seen the VMA's the last few years(mainly because MTV plays it all the time) and maybe the WWF really doesn't need to be on there. the show is horrible.

Thats an interesting point.

Makes me kinda think though. WWF in slow times...Economy in slow times... Coincidence? I guess you'll have to decide for yourself.

Maybe its a Vince McMahon Conspiracy. Maybe he wanted to get back at the people for not watching the XFL by making the Economy turn sour.

I'll stop rambling now.

Why the Rock? Because thats who people want to see. Austin was at the last VMA's with Debra he just didn't have an on-air role. He is not as good a speaker as the Rock nor is he more popular with the mainstream fans than the Rock.

I was surprised the Rock was not there. He was in NY this week. He just did Howard yesterday and Conan O'Brien and TRL the day before.
