Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00	STAMFORD, CONN., September 12, 2001 - World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, Inc., confirmed that WWF SmackDown!, the live event scheduled for this Thursday night at the Compaq Center in Houston, will go on as planned. This event was originally slated for Tuesday, September 11, and was rescheduled due to the tragedy yesterday. WWF SmackDown! will start at 6:30 PM CST and will be broadcast live on UPN at 8:00 PM EST/7:00PM CST. "After much deliberation and discussions with local officials in Houston, we have decided that the show should go on. We do this to support the call by President Bush and other political leaders to get Americans back to their everyday routines after this barbaric act of terrorism, and for many Americans, WWF SmackDown! on Thursday night is part of their regular routine," said Linda McMahon, CEO of WWFE. O&A Board Regular Registered: Feb. 01	Damn, that is good news, I look forward to watching something else besides the tragedy on EVERY channel. It is too depressing to watch constantly. O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00	i agree with you king, while i am saddened by the events of tuesday, and i will mourn for a long time to come, it is time we had something else on the television. it is really starting to hurt watching the same pictures over and over, and only hearing it, something else may help... Hanger-On Registered: Sep. 00	We know that Smackdown! will take place tonight but are we sure that Channel 9 will carry the broadcast? I could see the NY affiliate staying with the WTC coverage. I sent an e-mail to UPN 9: WWOR Programming Dept, Will UPN 9 carry the live Smackdown event tonight? I'm sure you'll get criticized if you air the program but it would serve as a welcome diversion for many of us who are just sick about the situation downtown and wouldn't mind forgetting about it for a couple of hours. O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01	I hope that they air Smackdown! because, as sad as this is, I really don't want to see all of it on TV any more.
