| O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00  | UGH! If it weren't for the casual wrestling fans and his actng skills, The Rock would be so gone by now. I'm sorry but his matches are so goddamn boring- can he use any actually wrestling moves besides the Rock Bottom and his lame-ass DDT?-- which I saw Tori do a better one than him Monday. Oops, almost forgot to mention how amazing it is when he "Lays the Smackdown" and does the tremendous high impact People's Elbow. Otherwise it's just punch, punch, punch, shoulder jab, maybe a kick here and there. How much time do you think he honestly has left since he has become so lazy in the ring? The PPV match would have been worse if it wasn't for Shane O'Mac saving the match.  We Have Not YetBegun To Fight NEVER FORGET!!! | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Aug. 01 | Spit, Like it or not, THE ROCK RULES! He is the most electricfying man in sports entertainment. And I dont think you should blame his punch punch punch Rockbottom matches on him. He follows the script written for him. I have seen him in some technical matches against Angle, Beniot and others. and he did perfom well. So he does not Fly or jump off the ropes... like that really is wrestling. Look at the top big name wrestlers. The Fact is when you reach a certain status in wrestling, The writers writes less risky mathes for you they don't want to lose you to injury.... do you see SCSA fly off the ropes, What about HHH? Now you are seeing less risky moves from angle.... Take a look at the past top stars, once they reach that status, their mathes are all the same. they come in the ring, they kick ass... then they get their ass kicked, the fight back and get their ass kicked again and the they do their signature move. end of match. Onless if they are fighting another big name who kicks out from the move.  | ||||

He has a great personality and no matter howw much you criticize his actual wrestling skills, his mic skills are right at the top. Perfect recent examples were him and Y2J uncovering Steph's implants and the first time he met Booker T, where he said are you going to be parking cars. He is also very well spoken as Dwayne Johnson and gives the wwf exposure in magazines and special events. And one of the better things he does is sell moves as well as lose. He freaking jobbed to Stephanie. Could you ever say any of these things about say an Undertaker or a Nash, Hogan, or Goldberg. His wrestling skills are not the best, but in todays wrestling, personality and mic skills make a wrestler and the wrestling really is second.  | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | um, the writers write who wins and loses...it is up to the wrestlers themselves to decide the moves they do. it is back stage stuff that is keeping the rock doing his great moves...like the i block your punch you don't block mine crap that he does. i know he is great on the mic, but having some skill in the ring is a necessity. Give me Benoit or guys like him who can work...that is what is entertaining, not someone who can only talk and do 3 moves. | Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | I don't think The Rock is as awful in the ring as some people make him out to be. Sure, he does the worst Sharpshooter ever. Sure, his punches are almost as bad as RVD's. Sure, the People's Elbow is probably the weakest finisher ever. But compared to past WWF main eventers like Hogan, Warrior, Sid, and Nash, he's pretty decent, and can be carried to a good match by superior workers. Basically, Rock is the perfect WWF-style wrestler. In the WWF, it doesn't matter how well you execute your moves or how realistic you make the match look, as long as you can get that all-important "pop" from the crowd. In other federations, the number of wrestling holds you know can be an advantage, but in the WWF with its idiotic less-is-more attitude towards the actual in-ring product, you only really need about three or four that the fans can easily recognize and react to. Remember, it's not about actually creating a quality match any more, and hasn't been for a long time. Nowadays, it is about appealing to the lowest common denominator of attention deficient bandwagon wrestling fans who think talking about streudel and pie is more entertaining than watching grown men play-fight in their underwear. Which is why a talented wrestler like Tajiri plays second fiddle to the Stacy-Torrie feud. | Psychopath Registered: Aug. 01 | Spit, while I will agree that Rocky isn;t the greatest technical wrestler ever, he is a huge draw just like Teen said. Austin doesn't do much in the ring either. He stuns you, flips the bird and waddles all over the place. HHH is obsessed with his knee moves, I don't think any of his moves now don't involve a knee thing. Yea some guys like Michaels, Mankind, Undertaker did some sick shit in their prime, but they are the elites of wrestling in that realm. The Rock isn't in their realm because he can't do that, so therefore don't expect it out of him. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | spit, truer words have never been said, I HATE THE ROCK, his matches are the same every time, he wins by a rock bottom on raw and smackdown, and by peoples elbow drop on ppv's, and when he loses there has to b interference, u know the rock is too good to lose fair and square, i hate the rock with a passion, i hope he goes to a full time acting career, then i wont have to hear his dumbass catch frases agin | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Listen, i used to really really hate this guy. Its true, he doesnt have too many moves, and he performs the sharpshooter like shit. However, I have looked past all of that lately, and actually have started to like him a little. I mean, he is more of an entertainer, and people should accept that. His promos are unbelievable, and he does sell moves very well. I do get annoyed when he beats 3 guys at once. But, he does take his share of bumps too. Its not like he's the Undertaker. | ||||
