Found on Rajah, The Link

Roddy was on the local WGN news show this morning talking about the XWF and how its making it's first appearance to the Chicagoland area December 28 in Hammond, Indiana. Piper talked about how he just learned he was a grandfather and he also had some interesting words about the recent WWF angle. He said he caught this past Monday's Raw and he was shocked Vince allowed Undertaker to use his name on television. He said there was more then just kissing Vince's ass going on, but he was not one to do so. He was the one who shoved a baseball bat up "Vince's bum".

He also talked about how great it is working with Rena Mero. Unlike the WWF, XWF won't force their talent to remove their clothing in front of children everywhere much like Vince forced Rena to do. He said the biggest difference is that the XWF will be old-school wrestling with a contemporary twist.

This pretty much explains why no one should expect much from Hogans new promotion. No nudity, toned down violence, and 60 year old men who refuse to hang the wrestling boots up, the recipe for another failed promotion.

I'll give it a chance but it doesnt sound too exciting so far.

Yeah, what good is a wrestling federation that focuses on wrestling?

Oh, shoot, did I forget the sarcasm tags again? ;)

I'm still planning on attending one of their house shows when they come out here at the end of the year, and if it sucks, hell, I'll say so. But I'm looking forward to a break from the WWF and the half-assed indycrap they usually run out here.

Hydrate I dont disagree with you. I also would like to see a fed. that puts a focus on the wrestling......but the problem is I have not seen many names that are even good wrestlers anymore with them. I will attend a show if they come around me as well.

Maybe Hogan can teach some young talent to do that exciting, over the edge LEG DROP!!!

damn...I also forgot my sarcasm tags

So basicley the XWF is going to try the same format that failed for the WCW right before they hired Vince Russo. I think that it will have some immediate hype, but then die off just like WCW did.

Keep in mind WCW itself was in existence for well over a decade, and the company it evolved from, the NWA was around for almost the entire 20th century. Also keep in mind that, once upon a time, WCW was the number one organization in America, while so-called experts were predicting the demise of the WWF...and this was just 5 years ago.

I think the XWF could succeed, given the fact that a lot of fans (like myself) are just looking for any alternative to the crap the WWF has been concocting this year. I think the combination of nostalgia (with Piper, Hennig, Rena/Sable, Heenan, etc) and new talent (Kid Kash, Low-Ki, Christopher Daniels, among others), along with a "family-friendly" environment, will appeal to those who are just not enamored with the WWF product.

i don't see this as a bad idea. i am looking forward to some wrestling for a change. i don't mind the sports entertainment when kept to a minimum, but lately its been all sports entertainment, with 15 minutes of actual wrestling a night. that just doesn't cut it. plus, this is probalbly gonna be way cheaper to get a ticket to, and i won't have to rush out to get one on hte first day in order to see the ring from my seat. i hope they come locally sometime in the new year so i can check it out.

There is only one problem with that Hogan is a Ego maniac who believes that he should be the only one to hold the Heavyweight Belt. I remember that was one of the biggest problems the boys had in the back in the WCW camp. So while they may have talent it’s to bad that Hogan, and the rest of the dinosaurs will probably hold them back.

Yeah, liek Vince put a gun to her head to pose for Playboy puh-lease!

I'm so pissed, we tried to order Japanese Hardcore Wrestling on ppv Sunday (hey, at least it's an alternative) and the stupid fucking phone # wasn't working, and of course there was no one at the cable office.

Peach, I think it sounds like really boring wrestling for the most part, but Kid Kash is in it so it may not be all bad
