-WWF Smackdown has seen one of the lowest ratings the show has ever done this week, coming in with a 3.9. Obviously with RAW also doing a very low number this past Monday, things are not too good ratings wise for the World Wrestling Federation right now.

-Edge & Christian, The Dudley Boyz and The Hardy Boyz will once again have a tables, ladders and chairs match at Wrestlemania X-7 in Houston, Texas on 4/1.

-The WCW/Fusient deal may be in serious trouble, but WCW is still prominently featured on the Fusient Media Ventures website. The latest on the deal is that both Fusient and Eric Bischoff are turning away phone calls concerning WCW and that WCW President Brad Siegel is exploring other options. Siegel will return from a vacation this Monday and head back to work on this deal that now seems to be in jeopardy.

Kevin Nash is selling the retirement match. But without the mass invasion of WCW stars, Nash’s return is not certain, and he currently has no time table for return.

-The latest on Scott Hall is that he is unable to negotiate a new deal with WCW because Bischoff is not yet allowed to sign new major deals. However, Hall is being described as in the best health in years, and is said to be in great shape.

-One would think being friends with big WWF superstars like Edge and Christian would help someone out for future employment with the WWF, but so far it looks to be holding Johnny Swinger out of the promotion. Apparently the WWF does not want it to seem like they are hiring new people just because they know someone in the federation.

-David Crockett and Jay Hassman have been rumored to made a serious offer to Time Warner to purchase WCW. Hassman, a former WCW V.P. has major ties in the entertainment industry, in addition to the PPV business. However, friends of Hassman say that he may think its better to start a new promotion than saddle himself with the problems of WCW. Those sources are also saying that Hassman has used some of his contacts to send feelers out about starting this new promotion, and getting TV and PPV support for it. Should WCW shut down, there would be a massive amount of talent available on the open market.

-Chris Benoit is set to face Eddie Guerrero at this Monday's RAW, which would eliminate their match happening at Wrestlemania. The WWF may have a match to consist of all four Radicalz in a Four-Way dance to take place on April 1.

-The Wrestling Zone will be holding an event April 27th at the PepsiCola Roadhouse, in Burgettstown, PA. The main event features the Road Dogg vs. Steve Corino. Also on the show Nova, Spike Dudley, Roadkill, The Sandman and many more. Tickets for the event go on sale March 9th at the Pepsi RoadHouse. For more information check out Wrestling-Zone.org.

-Buff Bagwell will have an MRI today on the neck injury suffered this past Monday on Nitro. The injury occurred on a Blockbuster on Lex Luger. Most believe that the injury is not too serious, but considering Bagwell's past, he will have it looked over anyway.

The wwf should do something to get their ratings up. I havent watched smackdown in over 3 months because I don't miss anything. They should figure something out with that show.

I haven't watched it either...you can watch on Saturday mornings and get a summary of the whole week; including, RAW. I can remember waiting in anticipation for wrestling to come on and now I can go weeks without watching. Vince needs to quit with the F'n soap operas and get back to the old school rules...just my opinion!

Well, actually, Smackdown is routinely the more watched show of the two big WWF programs. I've read that the main reason Smackdown's rating was low was because in many UPN affiliates in the south, it was off the air cuz of *ugh* local college basketball conference tournaments. Since in the overnight ratings (the top 49 markets), the rating was average with what they've been doing, its not a major sign of concern. Now, if they do it NEXT week and the ratings are low without basketball as an excuse, THEN its alarming.

With the WWFE financial report saying that if you took the XFL out, the WWF actually went UP in revenues this last quarter than this time last year, it shows that although the XFL is taking most of their money away, the WWF is stronger than it was last year, although their ratings have seemingly decreased. I think that must mean one thing:

People only have time to catch ONE show a week, an so are being split between the two. I think if they went back to having it be ONE major show a week, their ratings would be bigger than before Smackdown came, but then that aint happening. Quite frankly, I wish they would go back to one show a week, but hey, thats me.

What do you guys think?

I watch both shows on monday nights, and the pay per views every month...to be totally honest, i would rather watch wcw than the wwf because at least the soap opera scenario isn't as bad on wcw tv...just my opinion

You ever think that a little show by the name of "SURVIVOR" has anything to do with it. I mean its only by far the Top Rated Program on Television. And is in direct competition with the First Hour of Smackdown.

Theres too much Wrestling anyway. Ill take quality over quantity. WCW's product began to deteriorate once they came out with Thunder. And the WWF started to deteriorate once Smackdown came into the position. Monday Nights just arent the same anymore.
