Smackdown opening: Tape of Stephanie's big revelation...nothing else. Boy, Trips gets cheers when he's by himself, and gets heat when he does anything good with Steph (like hugging and kissing). Who says the woman on your arm doesn't change people's perception of you?

Titles, Welcome to the Sold out Staples Center.

The Rock comes out, and "Finally, the Rock has..." Wait! No cliched lines! The Rock very quickly calls out the Taker, but Booker T says he's sick of people with big egos. After all, didn't he beat Triple H last week? After a little more jawing, the two go at it, and a ref comes out.

Smackdown #1: Rock def. Booker T
The match is good fare between two of the best sellers (in my less than popular opinion) in the WWF. Book does his Spin-a-rooni, almost sticking to the mat and blowing before he could even get started. Rocky finally finishes the Book-man off with a People's Elbow, and the Rock can't seem to decide whether or not to leave the ring, as the guys handling the board can't decide whether to turn off his music and start the taped interview on the screen, false starting it twice.

In the back - Steph and Trips meet with someone who I guess is the family doctor from the east coast. He gives them an ultra sound. The kids next to me yawn. Meanwhile, Kurt strolls to the ring, with a baby carriage?

Commercial break - (if this is taped, why do we have to wait for the normal commercial breaks?) nWo promo (2 or 3 different ones would get repeated almost every break)

Kurt comes out, walking a baby carriage to the ring. He intones that what should normally be the big news of last Monday, his getting the match with Trips at No Way Out. But, no, Stephanie's announcement of the pregnancy was the news. Never before has Kurt felt so sorry for a baby, having Triple H as a father. The sloping forehead, the knuckles dragging (And Kurt does some faces that make everyone laugh, even stopped the 'What?' chants!). So Kurt pulls out Trips' baby from the stroller, a stuffed Gorilla with a big nose mask on it! Say what? You're the Little Game? Well, the little game gets, baby bananas! What do you say, they're that damn good? Trips comes out at this point, no music, smiling. He steps into the ring, with a huge grin on his face, laughing. He finds this as hilarious as everyone else! He calmly walks over to Kurt, and without breaking stride clocks him, then hits him with the stroller! He tosses the bananas to the crowd, then kicks the stroller off the stage.

Smackdown Match #2: 6-Man tag - The Dudley Boyz and William Regal def. Edge, Rob Van Dam and Rikishi.
Honestly, I forgot much of this match, as it was a lot of in and out. Rikishi did get a stinkface in on Bubba, but then got 3-D'ed for the pin. No Stacy! I know, she's coming, but still, there's no such thing as too much Stacy, even if it means watching her less than skilled wrestling ability.

After another break, Jericho comes out (in checkered pants???) and calls out Stone Cold. Stone Cold stumbles out, and does his in-ring stuff. Boy, he looks like he's put on weight. Jericho assails him, face to face, answering the sporadic "What?"'s with filled out question. Stone Cold keeps asking What?, then Who?, then How? Wait, that's not Stone Cold. Stone Cold #2 starts implying Jericho's the better man, apologizes to him, then kisses his boots. The real Stone Cold comes out, and Jericho high tails it, but the fake is frozen. Stone Cold assails him for doing this, asking if it's supposed to be funny. SCSA offers to drink a beer with the fake, then changes his mind, then changes his mind again and toasts with the fake. The fake drinks, gets stunned, and after Austin poses, he pours half a six pack over the fake. Mildly entertaining, but it went on too long.

Smackdown Match #3: Hardcore Title Match - Maven def. The Undertaker (with help)

You know, I'd rather see Maven feud with Taker than the Rock, so I'm thrilled. Maven comes out with Al Snow. The Taker comes down to huge pops, and finally gets into the ring after circling it for way too long. Maven ducks him, and grabs a garbage can lid, smacking the Taker around with it, but Taker grabs the lid and hits Maven. Maven starts getting his ass kicked, until Snow tosses him a garbage can. Undertaker punches Maven THROUGH the can, though (A punching, Undertaker Van Daminator?) Undertaker pounds on Maven some more, and when Al tries to distract him, Taker throws him into the crowd. The Rock comes down, and disrespects the Taker by giving him a Rock Bottom. Al encourages the crowd to encourage Maven, who rolls onto the Taker. 1-2-3, and Maven, bleeding from several cuts, wins the Hardcore Title! The Rock watches the Taker watching Maven get helped up the ramp by Snow.

Jericho's happy with himself, backstage, but Rick stops him. Rick says, well, why wait? How about a non-title, one on one match between you and Triple H tonight? Good with you? Good with me!

Oh, yes, it's time, as Jerry Lawler enters the ring. Jerry introduces the first ever Pose Down! (Guess if it's not on TV, it doesn't count). Down comes Billy and Chucky, in white robes flashing a little too much. Torrie and Stacy follow, in black robes, also flashing a lot of too little. He explains they'll each do three poses in 30 seconds, and the fans will choose the winner. First, there's Back to Back, then Down in Front, then Face to Face. Billy and Chucky are told to start, and they take off the robes, taking the time to compliment each other on the booty shorts that appear to have been designed by the Nasty Boyz of old with pastel spray paint. Stacy gets fed up with the all too unwanted love-in by opening her robe, revealing a blue bikini that is made hotter just by being on her. Torrie has a black bikini, but I'm not watching her. Billy and Chucky open with a pose that's more butt-to-butt than back to back, until Jerry thankfully corrects them. They continue with Billy doing a near splits to go down in front of Chucky, and then Chucky leans over Billy for the Face to Face. Hey, are they doing that pose from Gone with the Wind? Billy turns his face before they get too close, and they get out of the way for the winners, Stacy and Torrie. I didn't see those poses too well (damned signs), but Stacy was on her knees crawling towards Torrie at one point, and I love her ass. Stacy gets up, and the crowd votes. When the girls win, Stacy turns to rub it in the guy's faces, and Jerry raises Torrie's hand in victory, though naming them both (and Stacy first). Stacy sees Torrie's hand raised, and the jealousy gets going. She clocks Torrie from behind, and Jerry gratefully takes his role, getting between the two cat-fighters. Jerry breaks them up, and it seems we'll finally get an angle of these two away from their undeserving men. Too bad it's a rerun, but what isn't these days?

After another too long commercial break, Goldust's PG rating strikes, and he comes out. (Isn't this freak at least a PG-13?) After enough hand sliding and tongue licking to earn an NC-17 rating, the escorts come out, leading Godfather to the ring. The girls start dancing with their employer in the ring, but from no where, RVD attacks Golddust! Wow, Golddust hasn't even done anything to him yet, except talking big. While the Godfather protects his investment(?), Golddust turns tail, and runs away. The match never happens, and that gets the biggest heat of the night.

At the parking lot, The Rock gets asked if things are even between him and Taker going into No Way Out. The Rock says things will never be even, and then the Taker ambushes him. Taker chokeslams Rock into the hood of a limo! The Undertaker then emphatically agrees with the Rock, that things aren't even, then pulls Rock up to the roof of the limo and Tombstones him! Rock is left twitching.

Triple H tells Vince he doesn't want him anywhere near his kid, so Vince responds by making Triple H's single match into a handicap match against Jericho and Angle.

Finally, the main event! Triple H against Jericho and Kurt Aingle. This match went in and out of the ring, and I didn't get it all, but Triple H ruled for about 5 minutes, then Kurt and Chris took over, and actually paid attention to the rule that only one of them was supposed to fight at a time for a couple of minutes. Trips again got the upper hand, setting up Kurt for a Pedigree, but pushing Kurt into Jericho's flying kick from the turnbuckle instead. Trips throws out Chris, and tries to Pedigree Kurt again, but again moves to avoid an attack by Jericho. Trips throws Kurt away to take care of Chris, but as Trips sets up a pedigree on Chris, Kurt comes from behind, giving him the Olympic Slam. Trips kicks out of the pin attempt, but Kurt hits another Olympic Slam and that seals it. Kurt and Chris celebrate, and Steph comes out to check on her husband. (Stephanie, doing the right thing? Wow). Chris notices the new target, and backs Steph into the corner. Trips gets a chair, and hits Kurt from behind, then nails Jericho. Trips embraces Steph, but gets hit from behind by Kurt, knocking The Game and Steph down, The Game on top. The heels leave, and Steph clutches at her stomach.

ok, now i love when the undertaker loses, but isn't this push of maven a little stupid? i mean, there are a lot more worthy guys in the locker room that should get it. give it to storm, or raven or someone who has earned it. i really don't think any cares about that stupid punk, and he isn't that good...

second, does this mean that the baby angle is over already, and she is gonna blame hhh and side with jericho at the ppv??

I dont think that anyone can ever call the Undertaker the Un-NeverJobber again after the job he does to Maven. Love the part where he tombstones the Rock on the limo, great stuff.

Ok, so either the WWF is going to kill this baby story, or they're going to make it look like thats what they're doing and continue to ride it. Personally, I would drop this angle like a bad habit. Babies and wrestling do not mix, no matter how entertaining it may look on paper.

And is anyone else getting really tired of Booker T? Nice to see the Neverjobber start to lose more - and I agree, why Maven? To attract the hordes of watchers from Tough Enough? Its decisions like this that cause good talent to get wasted. I think Maven has potential, but really needs to put in the time and dues - sorry, a TV show doesn't count as dues to me - try living the circuit for a few years Maven, then come looking for a title reign.

Sure we can. He did the most politically safe job possible.

It took three guys, including a main eventer, to beat him.

He got his heat back from The Rock right away by punking him out in the parking lot.

Maven is no threat to Taker's spot. Not even close. When Taker does a clean job to someone rising up the card, or near the top, then maybe he could be cut a little slack. Maybe.

This is one of the oldest tricks in the book. A main eventer takes criticism for not putting over other wrestlers, so he does a meaningless job which will have no negative impact on his position, so he can say "See, I do job!" to his critics. HHH and Nash are famous for this.

Sorry, he's still the LazyTaker, NeverJobber, whatever...

I will always call him the Un-Neverjobber the man loses one match in 200, and you claim to praise him for this.

Are you kidding me? Sir O is right on every one of his points, but the other factor here is that this is all a continuation of the Rock / Undertaker storyline. It's not the Undertaker doing the time-honored tradition to give Maven "the rub", but rather a progression in his angle with the Rock. If you believe the sources, Undertaker was bitching like he was on the rag to Vince that he wanted a main event angle, and look - here one is. This loss is meaningless, especially considering how much of a joke the Hardcore title is. Has he even defended it in the last month or so?

I still say that the only reason we're seeing a Maven push is because later this month we have the debut of Tough Enough 2 on MTV. It's the WWF's way of promoting the upcoming show. It's basically, "See! Here's our male winner of the first season, and he's already a champion!" After the show debuts, he'll likely get sent back down to the minors again. At least I hope so, because if they keep him around, I will go absolutely nuclear. How they can call Sean O'Haire, who is a BEAST, "green", and yet have Maven dropkicking his way around WWF TV week after week, I will never understand.

The person I really feel bad for here is Nidia. Remember her? Her absence from the programming shows just how much of a waste that part of the TE contest really is.

I'll give you a reason why Maven is getting popular and is getting a title ALREADY. Female Audience. (Besides the obviousness of TE2) Girls want to see him, like they want to see the Hardys. For some reason they think he is hottest guy in the WWF since Jeff Hardy. But in my opinion, if you wanted to give him title shots, the Hardcore title wasn't the way to go. Maybe winning the Crusierweight Title from Tajiuri or something like that. It makes no sense why they are throwing him in the Undisputed Title Match and now the Hardcore Title?? That's ridiculous.

As for Nidia why is she even in the WWF when she isn't going to wrestle at all?? Maybe it's an idea to throw her vs. Lita or something. It's an idea. Does anyone know if she is wrestling in house shows???
