Well, the draft is coming up and it should be fun, but there a few inherent problems with it.

1) After all the top guys have been picked first, there will be little suspense towards the end, since everyone's favorites are gone.

2) Why would Vince pick any of the top faces he despises like Hogan, Rock, Austin, HHH, etc. ? You KNOW he'll have to pick a couple of them for the sake of his show not looking inferior, but why?

3) Flair can't pick Taker. You can go by having him pick Jericho and Angle even though they're heels since he has no storyline beef with them, but Taker can't be picked by Flair under any circumstances.

4) The nWo should be voluntarily picked by NOBODY or else their storyline of being poisons is worthless.

Here are some of my ideas to alleviate these problems.

Keep in mind that at the Smakcdown tapings, it was announced that Vince made a deal to have the nWo to be picked as one draft pick. Now, in a storyline sense, why would Flair agree to this? I'm assuming him and Vince are going to alternate picks the entire draft. Since Vince goes first, that means, theoretically, Flair goes last. And you would think the nWo would be picked last. After all, Vince doesn't want them in his WWF, he brought them in to kill a Flair-led WWF. He'd want them to be stuck in Flair's WWF so they can kill the Raw franchise while the Smackdown franchise thrives. Flair, for obvious reasons, won't want to pick them either. Now, vince, in the end, looks like a genius then, because he not only made the nWo into a whole entity, he also stuck Flair with the last pick (#2,346 or whatever it will be) meaning that if nobody picks them beforehand, and they WON'T, Flair will have to pick them and be stuck with them.

So, why did Flair agree? Why didn't he just say no to them being considered as "one," so that way at least they'd have to be split up and instead of Hall, Nash and whoever else joins being in his WWF, he'd only have one of them in his WWF and Vince would be stuck with the other? Well, here's why and it alos solves the "Vince picks guy he hates" dilemma.

First off, with the first pick, Vince selects Hogan, then Flair picks Austin, Vince picks the Rock, Flair picks HHH (for a home when he loses the belt), the fifth pick is Vince getting the Undertaker, and so on and so on. He tells the nWo guys he picked Rock and Hogan because Flair is gonna be stuck with you as the last pick, so he decided to take the nWo's top two enemies so that in Flair's WWF, they won't have to worry about them. Meanwhile, the draft goes on and, really, after the five guys I mentioned are gone, there isn't a reason for Vince to avoid picking any other face since he has no storyline heat with any of them, and like I said above, once the Taker is picked, same goes for Flair with the heels.

The rest of the draft, Vince will pick alot of big guys for his "big guys fetish" and Ric will get alot of the smaller underappreciated guys like he was at one time.

So, it gets to the end of the draft, the nWo hasn't been picked, JR and the King make a big deal about it, and then, finally, it's 11:10pm and it's time for the final pick by Ric Flair, and yes, he's stuck with the nWo. Or is he? You see, Flair made a deal with Vince to allow the nWo to be allowed as "one" during the draft. The storyline colud be he agrred to that under one condition: during the draft, he could change a pick owned by one of the two guys to a pick owned by the other guy. Vince of course agrees as long as the #1 pick is off limits, Flair agrees to that, and the deal was done. Now, Vince assumes that Flair was going to change one of HIS picks to a Flair pick, but it turns out Flair kept that "switch" card right til the end when he changes the last pick of the draft to a VINCE pick, and all of a sudden VINCE is stuck with the ENTIRE nWo! And the nWo is stuck with Hogan and Rock in the same organization! The plan backfired, and Ric comes out outsmarting Vince who thought he had outsmarted Ric.

This would fix ALOT of logical dilemmas faced in the draft and keep suspense on the draft til the end as everyone wonders when the nWo is gonna be picked instead of having the draft die off after the big names and title holders have all been taken early on and we're stuck with Moppy being the last pick to no suspense.

Well, what do you think?

I found this at RajahWWF.Com:::::

- The WWF has sent out a press release advertising several talent for a show in Germany on 5/1. Apparently this is Ric Flair's group which all but reveals which wrestlers he will draft. Anyway, the talent scheduled for Germany includes:

Steve Austin
Triple H
Chris Jericho
Kevin Nash
Scott Hall
Kane, RVD
Hardys Boyz
Lita
The Big Show
X-Pac
William Regal
Billy & Chuck
Bradshaw
Jazz

That would leave Vince McMahon's group to contain (among others):

The Rock
Kurt Angle
Undertaker
Booker T
Rob Van Dam
Edge

It is important to note that for the first little while (or at least as long as they are champions) Jazz and Triple H will wrestle on both shows which is why they will appear in Germany. Not including these two and barring last minute changes and modifications this is how the two rosters will likely pan out.

So.. RVD is going to be on both shows?

personally, I'd like to see ALL the over people go with vince, and let flair's half be the developmental program. There is alot of amazing talent in the indy circut that flairs half should highlight. BRING THE FOCUS BACK TO WRESTLING, NOT SOAP OPERA!!!

Well, I don't if this means anything when it comes to the way you see the draft, Diamond Dust, but for the CAA next Thursday night, on the poster is HHH, RVD, Y2J and nWo. Meaning, if these other advertisments are correct, that's Flair's WWF and he DOES end up with the nWo in the end.

I haven't actually thought it out for the whole roster, but these are a few of the thoughts I have.

Since Vince goes first, he picks either the Rock or Austin.
Next Flair takes the one that Vince didn't choose of those two.
Whoever gets the Rock also has to get Hogan, Hall, Nash, & X-Pac to keep that feud going.
Matt & Jeff Hardy most likely get split up and Lita winds up being picked with Jeff. How heartbreaking it will be to see the lovebirds Matt & Lita split up. LOL
All the rest, no clue on until the very end. Vince will refuse to pick the Undertaker on purpose and seeing how Flair gets last pick, he is automatically stuck with him.

Seeing how my track record is at best 5% accurate, I'd bet money that I'm wrong on all of these.

Has anyone thought that Linda may throw a wrench into the plans and say the draft might be held by picking out of a bowl or a tumbler.

Put it this way, if the draft with all the good guys go first, after the first half hour no one will care. Does anyone care what fed Rikisihi, Scotty 2 Hotty, Albert, Val Venis, Crash Holly go to no. That is why you will see those guys get thrown in the beginning to peak interest in the draft.

read the disclaimer underneath...CARD IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE

I know that is what it said when i bought my tickets anyway...

And I thought that they were going to stop taping smackdown and go live on thursdays too, any idea if that is still the case?

My idea of the draft:

Vince - Rock
Flair - HHH
Vince - Hogan
Flair - Austin

from there it can go anyway...but the nwo will most likely go like the champions and be on both shows...imho anyway

I fucking give up! Thank God there is no betting on professional wrestling, otherwise I'd be broke and homeless with all my bad picks.

I liked the way this was done. But who would pick Kane over Hogan?? Get real, Hogan at #4??? Atleast they brought back Benoit! From what I have seen so far I am liking SmackDown better right now, but Austin, & Y2J still have to be picked...
