From pwtorch.com:

---------------------------

Raw tonight will feature the "brand extension" of the WWF into two separate divisions. The draft, though, will not end up being the final rosters. Many television angle the next few weeks will center around trades being made between Ric Flair and Vince McMahon of various names. Many trades are said to be in the cards as the storyline plays out of wrestlers protesting their divisions or tag wrestlers leveraging to be reunited with tag partners.

The WWF is hyping the question of who will be drafted first at the website, and touting tonight's Raw as the night "the sports entertainment world changes forever."

The two shows will take on different appearances once the split takes place, although the extent of the appearance changes isn't well known. Because of the legal problems with the WWF name outside of the United States, it may mean the new logo will incorporate WWFE instead of just WWF to shift the brand title entirely.

The announced main event is Triple H vs. Chris Jericho vs. Stephanie McMahon for the WWF Title, with Steph's future in the WWF on the line.
--------------------------------

I know most of us would hate to see everybody change promotions constantly, but if it is done with trades, I like it. I don't want guys non-sensically just leaving Smackdown to go to Raw, BUT it would be cool if they had trades and announced it every week and it would keep things fresh. I can see Vince McMahon making Stephanie his GM so she can make a stupid trade that makes the Indians GM look like a genius for trading Alomar for nothing and so he'll yell at her for it and tell her she's fired, but then we find out it was all a McMahon plot the whole time, like every other McMahon turn! Ok, well, I wouldn't look forward to that, but I do like the idea of trades, anyway.

And, I also have heard that the WWF is changing their logo (as mentioned above) and changing the set of Raw and Smackdown for the split, so it looks like the WWF is trying to freshen things up a little bit in it's appearnace and who knows, maybe even in the product, too! Should be an interesting few weeks of TV to see if the new direction works out.

Damn, sounds like this thing is going to be even more of a clusterfuck than I'd originally thought.

In one month, they'll be lucky to draw a 4.0 on Monday nights...

FTL is not to blame for this abomination of a sig pic.

I'm with Sir O on this. This couldn't even handle a merging on feds right, let alone "splitting" this one. This coupled with SCSA apparently not being around much makes me think that this is a very good idea that is going to happen in a very bad way.

Competition makes for good programming. Since the WWF has none, their programming has been lacking. When you don't have competition, you can't "make" your competition out of your own company.

It would have benefited the company if Shane had really bought the WCW, and tried luring talent away from his father. I mean how much heat would there be, and imagine the promos against each other's company. I am sad to say that since the merger which I thought was the greatest thing, it has been the opposite, and the recent downfall of wrestling popularity.

There's a shock. So instead of it seeming like people are playing "fantasy wrestling" with the storylines, they really WILL be playing "fantasy wrestling."

Thanks to Brokenjaw for the sigpic

You're right, and I think the WWF knows that too. Raven, D'Lo & Shawn Stasiak have been called up. Rey Mysterio Jr. and Eddie Guerrero are rumored to be signed with the WWF. I just hope they give the guys that do Heat every day (Mr. Perfect, Lance Storm, Val Venis, Perry Saturn) some time on the big program. The WWF has talent backstage but they don't know it.
