Goldberg's contract has been bought out which apparantly means he's got some plans.

-Over the past few days, former WCW Champion Bill Goldberg negotiated a contract buyout with AOL/Time Warner making him officially a free agent.

Under most circumstances, he would not be doing that unless he had a desire to sign a contract with a company and return to work. As much money as he was making doing nothing, one would assume he has big plans lined up for the future.

That was reported by Matthew Boone.

I'm guessing it's only a matter of time until you this guy on WWF television

I know - there so dumb - it would make a bigger impact on the entertainment, or wrestling world if the day AFTER Raw or Smackdown or PPV every one is telling everyone that Goldberg made an enterance -

No one baught NO WAY OUT because the NWO was returning .. because they knew they'd find out what happens the next day

[Sarcasm]oh boy I cant wait, I am already counting down the days till that asshole appears. [/Sarcasm]

If he appears I would like to know why at first he said he would never lower himself to work at the WWF and then decides to work for it? I think he said something like that...If he was making so much money why would he want a buyout?

- Reader James Portillo sent in this recap of Goldberg on ESPN radio. I believe this is where it was first confirmed that Goldberg accepted a buyout of his Time-Warner contract:

Thursday afternoon, Goldberg talked on the Mcdonall-Douglass show on ESPN Radio 1110 in Southern California. Goldberg confirmed the stories and announced his free agent status. He said although he is not leaning toward the WWF, he is keeping his options open and will continue to do charity work with kids and pursue acting roles. He said that he has no personal bad feelings with Vince, he just doesn't like his product. Goldberg confirmed he got over 90% of his contract in his buyout and would now concentrate on healing his broken arm. Goldberg stated his interest in wrestling The Rock and HHH by name, and said he would wrestle at some point for sure, he's just unsure of where or when that will come about. This was his first pubilic comments concering the buyout.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Also on a bit of an update on Goldberg, it is being reported that Goldberg actually finalized his buyout on Monday or Tuesday and it was actually Time Warner/AOL that pushed for the buyout since Goldberg was the last remaining wrestler they had under contract. Additionally and as Goldberg mentioned on the radio (stated above), he received almost a 100% payout from his contract.

Take that for what you will.

I'm interested in seeing what's going to happen with Lesnar now that the guy who created his gimmick is coming in. The WWF will probably have Goldberg go up against Brock, and have Brock job.

It's pretty sad considering that Brock has alot of wrestling talent, while Goldberg is an ex football player that can spear ( which he learned in football, tackling.) and pull off the all too impressive "Jackhammer".

Yes, one Goldberg is enough. Why do we need the other one, who doesn't even care about the business? (Apart from the business aspect of getting himself as much money as possible.)

And of course, Goldberg will probably be used as a quick ratings booster, then he'll be jobbed down to a feud with Booker over who got to use the fucking bathroom stall first.

I think the best comments on this situation came from Dave Metzler on wrestlingobserver.com (also giving out an update on the situation in the process):

quote:

On the Bill Goldberg front, we'll have more on that later but as of yesterday, negotiations seemed to be more in the direction of New Japan, or possibly even Pride, than WWF. It's hard to believe that at some point he and WWF won't be working together because it's still the option that, done correctly (very important point) makes the most money for him and because they've got the machinery for it, makes more money for WWF than it could for the other two groups. Plus, for outside projects, you can be a superstar in Japan and nobody knows you exist in the U.S., but being a superstar who has the ability to get mainstream media attention more than anyone besides Rock in pro wrestling today, opens many outside doors. Done correctly for them, it's guaranteed great short-term money. Long-term depends on many different factors on both sides but if there isn't a well thought out plan executed right, it can easily be blown.

With Smackdown doing a record low rating this week, showing that people really don't give a shit about Hogan and that it IS all about nostalgia, and also showing how poorly they botched poor Jericho's moment to shine due to Stephanie McMahon and HHH's egoes, (Hogan and Jericho WAS the much hyped main event after all, so the blame should be on them), I'm sure Vince will panic and bring in Goldberg to the SD brand now to spike the ratings up AGAIN just so they will go down after the buzz is over AGAIN.

BTW, all you people who thought I was sick in the head for saying the Raw brand is better than the SD brand can rightfully go fuck themselves because the ratings and quality of the Raw product in general compared to the SD product and ratings have proved me right :-D

3. All 5 Starters have winning records this year
4. Mets win World Series
5. Hopefully come up with a better name for the Crack Commitee than something the Mad Dog came up with. Come on!

I hate Goldberg alot, but the only time I would like to see him in a WWF ring would be in a shoot fight against Triple H or Scott Hall.

I would like to see Goldberg in the WWF because he has personal rivalries with lots of the guys. He challenged Steve Austin many times. Austin/Goldberg could rival Hogan/Rock. If only those 2 were at Mania!! Imagine the hype. And when Goldberg came to WCW, Jericho got him pissed and the two never got along. I'd like to see Austin/Goldberg; Y2J/Goldberg; and then once that's done he can have a 'Get the fuck Out' match with Gillberg. :-D
