This came from 1wrestling.com:

WCW TO GO ON HIATUS EFFECTIVE MARCH 27
WCW programming will go on hiatus effective March 27 according to an email distributed to WCW employees this morning.
"During this hiatus, WCW will review its programming plans and determine the course of future WCW-branded entertainment events," the email stated.

1Wrestling.com sources tell us that the deal to sell WCW to Fusient Media has not been completed and while the deal is not dead, it is seriously damaged and the two sides are far apart. Conversations between representatives of Fusient and AOL/Time Warner continued this week and are expected to be ongoing until a deal is reached or until an announcement from either side that the deal is officially off.

In the meantime, it has been known for several weeks that no dates had been booked for WCW after the Panama City show scheduled for March 26. The company had long been rumored to be planning a dark period prior to a relaunch, and our sources tell us that efforts to finalize a completion of the deal with Fusient will continue.

WCW released the following memo to their staff today, concerning the future of WCW.

"In early January, we told you about an agreement that we had reached to sell WCW and its related assets. At that time, we said that we would apprise you of any changes to the way WCW operates. Effective Tuesday, March 27, WCW programming will begin a period of hiatus. During this hiatus, WCW will review its programming plans and determine the course of future WCW-branded entertainment events.

On Wednesday, March 28, please plan to attend an all-staff meeting at 10 a.m. at the Power Plant, at which we will share with you further information regarding WCW plans. In the meantime, I hope that you will maintain the level of professionalism that distinguishes our organization, particularly as we prepare for the upcoming Panama City, Florida event."
